Anyone checked it out? I really like it. Fun and interesting while still being very wearable. I am trying hard not to make an order. I really shouldn't...

I like some of the pieces but £250 for a dress is never going to happen.

mynameiscalypso · 01/11/2024 21:24

I love it but I think it is sadly out of my price range.

DreadPirateRobots · 01/11/2024 21:42

Some of the asymmetric cashmere jumpers are definitely a bit too much for me, but I am eyeing one or two of the sub-£100 pieces like the asymmetric striped top.

I also love the pleated black skirt even though I never wear skirts. And it's already sold out anyway. Aargh.

Last Saturday, I purchased the asymmetric stripe top in celebration of my now non-existent bosom. It's a beautiful top. The fabric is such good quality and a mid, almost heavy weight cotton.

I love the red knitted knot dress too. However, I just don't think I will wear it/fear it will be too long for me, so haven't yet succumb.

mynameiscalypso · 01/11/2024 21:54

I adore that pleated skirt and top combination. I just can't think when I would ever wear it.

DreadPirateRobots · 01/11/2024 22:00

@doublec you're not helping! 😁

I may now have a Vinted alert for A.W.A.K.E. MODE. I love theatrical and randomly detailed clothing.

I would wear both the asymmetric top and the pleated skirt to work, no trouble. (Not necessarily together, I think the top calls for wideleg trousers and the skirt for a fine knit.)

Love the barrel trousers but at £175 I needed to be sure I'd wear them a lot. So didn't buy.

imastrangerheremyself · 02/11/2024 02:33

Gosh there's some hideous stuff in that range although I do like the cashmeres.

Fairyliz · 02/11/2024 07:26

I love this sort of dramatic asymmetrical type clothing but unfortunately it doesn’t suit my lifestyle.

DreadPirateRobots · 02/11/2024 08:35

Aargh. I think I'm gonna have to buy the stripy top at least. I can just see it with a very plain gold torque choker I have.

I will hope that the asymmetric cashmere ends up in the sale at some point.

@doublec what would you say about the sizing? I'm a size 6/8 cusp, depending on shop. Reviews on the top so far have accused it of both running large and running small...

OP posts:
doublec · 02/11/2024 13:47

@DreadPirateRobots I think it runs to size albeit AM's sizing, not JL's which I often find run large.

I got the 6. It fits beautifully, if a little big across the chest - there's ample room - and would definitely have fitted my pre-cancer F cup breasts. (For reference, I have a 24 inch waist and 28 inch chest. The 8 would have been too big and not fitted on my waist. I guess it all depends on how you want it to fit. That said, I did have to wrestle it off but I suspect that's probably because I still can't raise my left arm properly.

One thing - it's definitely more of a cream than white.

CheerfulBunny · 02/11/2024 14:50

Phwoah, that cream cable knit sweater is divine. I don't think I can justify it but thank you for bringing it to my attention 😄

DreadPirateRobots · 04/11/2024 17:14

Update, I got the 6 in the stripy top and I think that's right. It's closefitting at the waist and below but I think the upper part of the 8 would have been too big. It is indeed lovely thick fabric that sits beautifully and falls in a sort of big origami fold off the shoulder. Looks great with my black barrel leg trousers.

Oh, gosh, I would forever be trying to straighten that top up on myself because it felt all wrong 🤣

@DreadPirateRobots Yay, so happy. It's lovely, isn't it? Flattering too.

It is! And forgive me for not saying this before, I hope your health is holding up OK.

Turns out A.W.A.K.E. MODE also did a Collab with &OtherStories but I like the JL one better. (Am I old?!?!)

OP posts:
doublec · 04/11/2024 19:44

Am doing ok, that's very kind of you to ask.

I recall their collab with & Other Stories; their JL one is far better. Age has nothing to do with it! There was one piece I liked, a white blouse with an external corset. Had I have known then that I'd wind up with no breasts, I'd have bought it 😂
