Vinted - any experience with potential fake purchases?

Hi - I bought a pair of New Balance trainers a few weeks ago on Vinted. As soon as I had purchased them, the item and seller were marked as no longer viewable. I assumed it was a scam and that I wouldn’t be receiving the item. However, they did turn up and look authentic (I compared to a pair I knew were genuine).

Unfortunately, they don’t fit, so I’m trying to resell them on Vinted, but I am unable to list them as Vinted are claiming they appear to inauthentic. Obviously I have no way to prove if they are genuine. I feel annoyed as Vinted allowed them to be uploaded initially, and now I’m stuck with trainers I can’t wear.

Has anyone else experienced this? Can I appeal to Vinted on the basis they shouldn’t have let them be listed in the first place? Or is this just completely pointless?

You've got no grounds to appeal unfortunately as I presume you clicked 'everything's ok' when you received them. If you'd flagged them as potential fakes (even if they're real, without proof you could have flagged them) then you would have been given a refund.
