Where can I buy shorts at this time of year?

Gah. Leaving for holiday on monday and need new shorts can't fit in my current ones.

Ordered these two pairs from Next for collection today, but woke up to an email telling me they've been delayed and will be ready to pick up "in a few days"

A long shot, but has anyone spotted anything similar in the shops recently? Just basic jersey / cotton / linen shorts, defo not cycling shorts. Near to a small city which has the usual collection of high street shops (Next, H&M, RI, TK Maxx, New Look etc and a big Sainsburys / Tesco / Asda)

Shorts do tend to shrink don’t they? 😀 Do you have a Mountain Warehouse nearby? They had a fair selection earlier this month.

Otherwise your best bet may be at your destination, or, assuming you are flying(?), airport shops tend to cater for all seasons, perhaps at a price though.

I think you're going to really struggle to find shorts in the UK at this time of year.
Do you have any summery trousers which fit and you'd be happy to sacrifice to turn into shorts? Many alterations places would be able to do this for you same day.

Otherwise, probably better off buying some at your destination

I blame the rubbish summer - my shorts haven't seen the light of day since last year so I hadn't realised how small they'd got

That's my fear, that there's nothing around. I thought I'd been super organised with the Next order but hey-ho. Sadly no summer trousers that I won't be taking with me and wearing, either.

As you say, I might need to go shopping when I get there!

I've been looking as well for holiday in Feb. I've seen a variety in Next ( I know you ordered some online but have you done an instore search?) & M&S. Bon Marche, Roman, Primark on the High Street. Online - Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins, ASOS..

Luckily people are travelling to warmer places a lot more now than they did in the past so it's not impossible.

Amazon has a shedload of them. Women's beach shorts is the description I used. Quick delivery.

Excellent shout for Amazon, @Havalona I never think of them for clothes. I've order these in a couple of colours and sizes, so I've got a fall-back if we run out of time to get into town.
