Hi all, I need a 1920s flapper dress. Want it to be really wow / standout. I'm 5'2 and size 8. Anyone got any suggestions?!

Amazon is full of them. About £20-30 which includes earrings, headdress and gloves. The dress was actually very well made, lots of beading and not costumey at all. Could easily wear it if there was a more formal function.

There’s also lots of them on Vinted.

Ah thanks. I should have said budget - don't mind spending a fair bit to get a good one. Say £200-£400. Don't want an Amazon one that potentially anyone else could turn up in! Happy to buy the costume bits like gloves and headband from Amazon!

There are some fantastic makers on Etsy. I would look there for something really 'wow' with that budget. Sounds like the classic beaded shift style would really suit you!

@EdithGrantham there are some really lovely looking dresses in there- thank you, will have fun fantasy shopping this evening! 😁

This one is gorgeous, the website has some really lovely options

Thank you that's lovely. I like my shoulders so that would work. Although I wasn't sure on black as I want to stand out! I was thinking gold or something 😆 I want it to be really "extra"
Not heard of this website though so I'll enjoy having a nose around!

Wouldn't have thought to look on Etsy for clothes. I'll have a look

I got a real, 1920s silk chiffon heavily beaded, utterly perfect dress for £90 4 years ago

I very smugly wore it to an evening reception at a wedding

Can honestly say it's the best I've ever looked in 55 years

Get the real thing

Aaaahh, yeah with that budget you won’t want an Amazon costume Grin

Hope you’ll find something amazing!

I would seek out vintage. My daughter has a couple like this. She is tiny and very slim so is a good shape for vintage stuff.

Check out Frock and Frill

So I had planned a 20s theme wedding outfit; here's a couple of my bookmarked Etsy items for items that might go with a dress:

Annoyingly, the seller I really loved seems to have disappeared- but you get the idea!
