I've stalking the Chintia and Parker website for their new Christmas jumpers and they have arrived! I'd love nearly everyone of them, but will be ordering at least 3!!

Tacky words and classic cartoon characters is literally the Primark aesthetic, people aren’t being hyperbolic or mean. The White Company ones someone posted are more what I’d expect for an expensive/stylish Christmas jumper, if that’s a thing at all.

FusilliGerri · 24/10/2024 18:30

My dd loves snoopy. She used to have a snoopy bedroom. I have never found him even vaguely amusing. She reads the comic strips and she laughs and laughs.

Nine years ago when we were doing her room you couldn't get anything snoopy then it crept in about eight years ago and then it was everywhere and he has never gone since. I had to get my American in laws to send us a duvet cover but now I can walk to M&S and get snoopy stuff.

Just the best dullest expensive Christmas jumpers ever!!

Happy to help 😂 honestly they are just a bit joyless and the Christmas Club one reminds me of that Christmas saving scheme thing that went bust years ago 😅

Or Arthur Fowler...

Wow. Just have to love this place sometimes. Marketing? Spammy?

With a discount its about £300. And people who can afford it, spend money like that, thats who.

Why do i care if you like them? And why do Christmas jumpers have to be crap?

There's plenty of people out there that love a more stylish Christmas jumper and are willing to pay for quality, and this thread is for them, not the Christmas Grinch!

But... they're not even that nice 🙈

StaunchMomma · 24/10/2024 18:33

250 smackers and they look like they're from Sainsbury's!!

Howling at the Snoopy ones 😂

PucaBandearg · 24/10/2024 18:34

HotCrossBunplease · 24/10/2024 18:26

But Snoopy was old fashioned when I was a kid! It’s not even funny.

If companies are making it, there's obviously a market for it 🤷

JaninaDuszejko · 24/10/2024 18:35

I'm not a Christmas jumper person but they are OK and are a wool cashmere mix so no plastic which is good. Unlike all the cheap and nasty ones.

I'm also surprised at all the 'all that money for 3 weeks' comments. Surely you just wash it, put it in the cupboard, then pull it out next year and the year after that etc etc until you've got a decent cost per wear. And that applies if you buy a cheap jumper or an expensive one (gold star to the PP who buys hers at a charity shop then regifts next year).

You lot do make me laugh and also feel a little pity for some of you as well.

I pity the poor sods who've got to look at you covered in Snoopy for a month, babes.

I think you're hugely underestimating how many of us can easily afford a few hundred quid's worth of jumpers, too.

Yeah, you've proved your class level with this.

Having money doesn't make you a twat.

You did that shit all by yourself.

Ihopeithinkiknow · 24/10/2024 18:40

I started reading some of the comments and thought that people were being a bit harsh and was gonna say "good for you if you can afford a luxury Christmas jumper then why not" then I clicked on the link and saw these luxurious expensive jumpers and fuck me lol are you sure you ain't taking the piss? If you are gonna spend good money on a jumper then why would you spend so much on something so underwhelming and pyjama looking. Saying that though I bet they are comfy to sleep in and will keep you cosy so not a complete waste of money.

FusilliGerri · 24/10/2024 18:43

What an overreaction about some Christmas jumpers!

This is Mumsnet. It's crammed with wealthy women. Confused

People don't have to like the same jumpers that you like. It's perfectly fine to like different things.

I could buy every one of those jumpers but I don't like them.

dudsville · 24/10/2024 17:43

A member of my extended family once had a hat, some sort of green felt fedora with a Christmas tree on it that lit up. She was only in the family temporarily, and has long since passed, but I remember her and this hat with great fondness, whilst also cringing just a tiny bit, which would have made her proud!

I make hats. This sounds amazing and I want one now.

tarheelbaby · 24/10/2024 18:45

Take a page from my young DDs' book and wear them all winter. Nothing says ironic like a Christmas jumper in March ...

Thommasina · 24/10/2024 18:46

I get that you probably feel a bit hurt OP.

I actually cannot afford to spend 250 on a jumper, you are right. But I love clothes and fashion and those jumpers are just too boring and cheap looking to be worth it anyway.

Nothatgingerpirate · 24/10/2024 18:47

Gah.
😎😆😳

AnOldCynic · 24/10/2024 18:58

Why?

I much prefer this one now that's Christmas 🎄

Sorry if this sounds judgmental, but with the state of the world as it is, you could find something truly meaningful to spend £300 on, rather than some boring jumpers you might wear once a year.
And google the origins of cashmere and how often its is so cruelly produced.
not so jolly

PucaBandearg · 24/10/2024 18:21

I hate the "read the room", " there's a cost of living crisis" brigade... 😠

  1. this is Style and Beauty, not Money matters
  2. Guess what..... not everyone is suffering!! People are allowed to like and buy more expensive items. 🙄
Edited

But most people don’t seem to think they are either stylish or beautiful!
However much money you have, but bonkers to spend £300 on this crap. Seem better in primark

Loafbeginsat60 · 24/10/2024 19:14

They look like Tesco Christmas jumpers sorry op!

SilverChampagne · 24/10/2024 19:14

craftysnake · 24/10/2024 16:04

But you do care if we like them, otherwise you wouldn’t have posted it

Or got quite so arsey when we didn’t 😁

Breadcat24 · 24/10/2024 15:30

They are really horrible- it is like having a "live laugh love" motto across your chest

Yes. Just so boring and try hard
