Which gold jumpsuit

Not a regular on the S&B boards, but a little help would be welcome here - both of these jumpsuits are too nice but I can only afford one! I’ve lost some weight recently and need to replace my trusty black and gold stretchy jumpsuit that gets wheeled out for all formal occasions. Alas, it is now too large for me! I’ve discovered that Nancy Mac is no more, but found this place. I already have a draped black top from them that is just lovely and looks as good after some pretty relentless wearing as it did when I bought it. So the quality is good. But which gold jumpsuit to buy? Velvet, or sequins…. 🤨🤨 I’m leaning towards the velvet.

A stunning show stopper party outfit in this gold changeant velvet jumpsuit. Beautifully draped and cut high into the neck with a flattering one shoulder detail. The style is pull on and the fabric has a good amount of stretch. On trend wide leg with c...

If it's for all your dressy occasions, I'd go for the velvet, too. Sequins may be considered a bit too gaudy for some situations. The velvet's also sexier, imo, if that's something you want to project with your newly svelte figure.

I like it

Illpickthatup · 24/10/2024 06:39

The velvet one is gorgeous.

urbanbuddha · 24/10/2024 06:43

I prefer the velvet one it looks more luxurious.
At a different price point Zara has this

Conversely I think the sequinned is better. The velvet fabric is too thin, leading to a ‘tight plastic bag’ effect. The sequinned one hangs more elegantly and probably looks less awkwardly clingy when walking.

Completelyjo · 24/10/2024 07:25

I think the second one is slightly better but honestly they both look very cheap considering the price. I think you could do better elsewhere.

unsync · 24/10/2024 07:39

It's poly, I'd be looking for viscose/cotton velvet at that price point. That's a massive markup.

Velvet

So far - I prefer the Zara one.

The Zara seems more versatile and classic.

  • but you know what suits you best

I don't think they look very good quality. If they don't sit nicely on posed photos with a model we are not gonna look good as new mortals at an event.

Tight plastic bag nails it.

Very different price point, but this is gorgeous. If I wasn't so short I'd get it - https://www.riverisland.com/p/green-velvet-halter-neck-jumpsuit-917000?srsltid=AfmBOorYjgARB7QPUvOZ4zwD-xbOkPWXKpO1LdQRafhepUPgIXpsE7em9RQ

Or you could look at separates, e.g. https://www.warehousefashion.com/product/warehouse-crushed-velvet-high-waisted-tailored-trouser_bww07173?colour=olive

Both more modern and classy IMO, despite being far cheaper.

Love the separates @owlexpress posted. Like the jumpsuits too but they look like they'd get so sweaty! Out of the 2 you posted I prefer the sequins

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 25/10/2024 09:51

I'd prefer velvet over sequins but what really puts me off is the price given the fabric! As its only polyester, you'd be far better to buy something cheaper and just as nice (the Zara one is lovely and there are other jumpsuits on the site that are also nice). If you're paying out that much, you should get quality in the fabric as well as the cut, and that's not it.
