Vinted are turning Royal Mail back on

Doubtless like a lot of us, after vinted turned RM on without telling us, had a parade of scanners who aren’t acknowledging proof of delivery.

I turned it off after MN warned me.

They’ve turned it on again today - just realised after a sale.

30 working days for payment means sometime after Xmas now.

Time for a little holiday, folks?

You can just turn off the royal mail option in your settings. I only do yodel as the drop off is so close! Maybe lose a few people but it’s worth it!

MaggieFS · 24/10/2024 06:25

Ah that's an interesting thought. I saw the message saying it was back, but I'm relatively new so don't know any background, it does say it will use the tracked service though. Could there still be problems?

Myattention · 24/10/2024 06:35

Difference this time is that you can toggle it off and I have done just that. Last time a month or so ago, there was no capacity to toggle it off.

You need to pay the postage up front and it can take a month or so to pay you. No thanks!

It is annoying as at least twice I’ve switched the Royal Mail option off and Vinted just keep changing it back to being available.

Acer1 · 24/10/2024 06:51

I think the email I received from Vinted yesterday said the royal mail service is now 48 hour tracked with prepaid labels as per the other options, plus can use a number of drop off points not just post office

Acer1 · 24/10/2024 06:54

Hmm but I just checked mine & it mentions tracking but not prepaid label!

musicalfrog · 24/10/2024 06:59

I've used RM in the past and it was no more difficult than the other options. Always a prepaid label.

I had no idea they removed it, and no idea they switched it back on!

Autumn1990 · 24/10/2024 07:02

If you buy the postage online it’s fully tracked and the postman collects it.

That’s interesting, I switched it off as RM never gave the option of a prepaid label through Vinted. I always had to pay upfront and then wait and wait. There was also no tracking available through the app. Anyway, I can’t get to the post office now so it’s switched off.

But not trackable through the Vinted app.

But not trackable through the Vinted app.

Except that it is.

I’ve always sold via Royal Mail, because there are no other drop off points near me (v rural). I agree that this was a pain, because it relied on the buyer acknowledging receipt, and plenty of folk never bother.

Very recently this changed - it’s much better. The buyer buys the label, it’s scanned and fully tracked, just like the other options.

I can see items I’ve sold tracking on their way to the buyer in the app right now..

Karmatime · 24/10/2024 07:24

I had RM switched off and just checked in my Vinted settings and it was turned on again. I got an ‘are you sure’ message when I switched it off.
The only other one I disable is inpost home delivery as you have to print a label for that one.

ChaoticCrumble · 24/10/2024 07:28

The email suggested it’s now tracksble and a label comes with purchase so it should mean quicker payment, right?

That’s good they’ve changed it now though.

Iloveeverycat · 24/10/2024 07:54

Royal mail collects from your house for free you just have to book a collection.

Myattention · 24/10/2024 07:51

It is! Although it’s baffling that Vinted wouldn’t just tell users about it - having pissed them about for weeks!

Jedstre · 24/10/2024 09:54

Thanks for the heads up. Just switched it off. I’ve also switched off in post home delivery I hadn’t registered it was the one that needs printing, which is a pain.

Poffy · 26/10/2024 11:20

I've turned Royal Mail off 3 times and the app has turned it on again. So three sales where I have to use it as the buyer has chosen it.
I think I will put a note in the sales description asking buyers not to choose RM.

usernother · 26/10/2024 11:24

Thanks for the heads up

TellingBone · 21/11/2024 15:18

Just bumping this because I've noticed another postage service has been enabled on my account - Relay Pitstop.

There are no drops anywhere near me and I can't really find a map of where it operates. Anyway, I was able to turn it off.

I've just checked and it's not on mine.

How strange. Given there appear to be no drop off/pick up points near me when I input my postcode my account shouldn't have been included either. 🤔

TellingBone · 21/11/2024 18:07

And now it's disappeared. Curiouser and curiouser.
