The perfect wool coat - does it exist?

I work in an office where the look is smart professional. I would love to invest in a good black coat, that doesn't go nobly after a few weeks and that everything doesn't cling it it like a mobile dust collector. Something i can pull out year after year.
Ideally id like it to be double breasted, to the knee with a good cut. while i like the oversized look, i would prefer something fitted and timeless.

My budget would be around €350/400 £300/£350. Im a size 14/16 usually.

Any ideas of where to go?

The Outnet is worth a look. This is quite nice.

I do love Jaeger coats, I think they're sold at M&S now. Good wool and lovely cuts. I get loads of compliments and think mine was from Ebay

Thanks for the suggestions. I really like the Jaeger ones but they don't have a nice black one. they have a stunning cream one, but im set on black.
Theres a lovely Claudie Pierre one in the outnet site but they size to 40(UK 12) only.
Also saw a stunning Victoria beckam one but at 900 its out of my league!

I'd go vintage for really good 100% wool coats (I definitely don't have the budget you do though). Mine are a full length Laura Ashley, Artigiano, and an unbranded one from a charity shop. All fantastic quality.

I have a gorgeous red one. It's red and a good brand bought from a charity shop.

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think?

I have a Jaeger pea coat I bought in December 2011. It looks immaculate.

I also have a max mara wool coat that I bought in an outlet in 2004 which also looks immaculate.

I have bought 'wool blend' coats which go bobbly due to the polyester.

So go wool and go as expensive as you possibly can.

I've had a Jaegar coat but in camel for a few years, still going strong, sobif you can find a style you like definitely won't bobble
