Long lasting lightweight foundation?

I'm a midwife and work 12.5 hour shifts, I'm on delivery suite so quite a bit of sweating involved.

I have combination (?) skin. It's almost like it's dry, with a layer of oil on top of it.

My T zone gets VERY oily.

I need a foundation/skin tint/bb cream/cc cream. That isn't heavy, but will last. Any concealer suggestions would be fantastic too.

I've used Estée Lauder double wear, but it's a bit too heavy and I find it separates on my face.

I'm 24 so no fine lines just yet, though I'm sure they're not far off.

Thank you!b

Fantastic - thank you! Do you wear any primer, powder etc. with it or just apply it straight to your skin?

And do you use a beauty blender or brush?

Can you dilute DW with some primer or moisturiser? What about DE Sheer? How do you apply DW at the moment?

PayYourselfFirst · 22/10/2024 20:51

I like the IT one linked above but Erborian Super BB just pips it for me.
It also prevents/ treats blemishes
Use a tiny bit, translucent powder on yourt Tzone then setting spray.
Doesn't budge or cake at all

Ps you can have oily but dehydrated skin.
Drink gallons !

What primer / moisturiser do you wear under the double wear ? Do you set it with powder ? I'm very oily and that's the only foundation that lasts on me but need to make sure anything under it is water based so it doesn't cause separation and I apply it with a damp sponge to sheer it out and set with powder

I use the elf power grip primer under DW. I have also used Estée Lauder primer under it too.

Have tried applying with damp sponge and brush.

Always use translucent powder but I usually powder my whole face as feel it looks strange with some areas matte and some not?

NARS pure radiant skin tinted moisturiser- very lightweight

Or

L'Oréal true match (be sure to get the one with the 1% hyaluronic acid) great coverage, with more of a dewy effect x

Also a midwife! But I'm on community, so I can't say if it lasts for 12 hour shifts, but I'm fairly certain it will (for me at least!). I put mine on at 7am this morning, did an 8 hour shift followed by 2 hours of cardio and weights training at the gym. It was just as perfect as it was when I put it on.
Maybelline super stay skin tint. I was wearing Charlotte Tilbury flawless prior to this, and this knocks the socks off it (at under half the price!). I'm really pleased. Also, don't need a primer under, nor powder over. My trick is using a dry beauty blender, a damp one spread it too thinly.
I like it so much I'm going to wear it on my wedding day, as it really has got staying power. It also doesn't come off if I gently touch it which pretty much every foundation I've had before has done.
Oh, I'm almost 40 but my skin is fairly decent, however I have old scars from acne and uneven skin tone - this gives enough coverage without being too heavy (unless I use the damp blender, in which case it goes on too thinly).

I do the elf power grip primer, maybe wee bit concealer, then apply with the brush- I splashed out on the IT one recently. Bit of elf dot on liquid contour to make pretend cheekbones, tiny bit powder on nose, spray with revolution sports fix setting spray.

I do also like the Erborian products, but this pips it for me just for coverage and I’m a bit between shades in Erborian

LoafofSellotape · 23/10/2024 11:02

OP have you tried it without primers? Mine is much better without.

GiftWrappedSuburbanDreams · 23/10/2024 11:06

Charlotte Tilbury beautiful skin foundation. I prime with the Elf power grip. Used this combination for a concert recently, and my makeup lasted really well.
