I am thinking about getting a pair. Want something sturdy, waterproof that will last. Something to wear on rainy sports practices/matches sidelines, walks with kids but ok with jeans etc for general day to day wear. I like the look of them but are the comfy and does the quality match the price?

I didn't find mine comfortable and they just felt too bulky for day to day. Great for winter walks though I'd imagine.

I've had mine for about 4 years, they're really comfy and still look as good as new

Just bought ds a pair for his birthday. He’s only had them a month but hardly takes them off and he’s very outdoorsy.

They seem to be holding up well and he says they’re very comfortable. I bought some cream polish treatment for them too but haven’t seen it being used yet 🙄

I have quite a high arch and it took me a while to break them in, but since I did they've been great!

I wear them with all sorts of different clothes styles.

ColdinNovember · 20/10/2024 21:18

Thanks all. Seems to be some variation in comfort. I have wide fit but quite like the unisex style so hopefully they are generous. The main appeal for me as that they seem quite versatile.

I have some, they are great but a bit heavy

chalkyc2 · 20/10/2024 23:05

I just got my first pair - the regular brown Chelsea boot style with yellow elastic sides. I actually find them much lighter than grensons or dr martens. And more comfortable without being super padded or anything. I have found they come up quite big - I'm usually a 6 but have ended up with a 5. They do seem reasonably wide too. Would recommend!

Same here, wore them throughout covid lockdowns and miles of wet and frozen walks, still as good as new.
Mine came from Screwfix (very reasonably priced at the time) and have a steel toe so they're heavyish and took a little bedding in at the little toe, but quickly became a favourite. I wear them with everything and particularly like them with skirts and dresses. They make me feel very tall!

I've had a few over the years and currently have a brown dress-style pair. I use dubbin to keep them matte and waterproof. I've always found them comfortable but know others who can't be doing with them. A bit like Birkenstocks.

honestasever · 21/10/2024 01:23

I’ve got 2 pairs - love them. Light, comfy and versatile

Ringpeace · 21/10/2024 01:26

Mine are the 'rustic' ones. Worn nearly every day since I got them in 2020.

Best footwear I've ever had. As comfy as slippers, waterproof and go with nearly any outfit. Just need some boot cream applying every few months and they come up like new. Worth every penny.

Doubleaxel · 21/10/2024 01:31

I love mine! Waterproof and versatile. Minimal breaking in. Order a half size up.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 21/10/2024 03:47

They are really sturdy and comfy. My only issue is despite the soles being really chunky, the grip is shite, I slid my way around the town centre yesterday after the rain. Hasn't happened with any other footwear

Interesting. I ordered my usual size and they came up on the bigger side...which isn't bad as I wear with chunky socks

ForGreyKoala · 21/10/2024 03:59

I've had them for years and find them comfortable, and they are also very light. There is plenty of room for my toes. I also find the grip good - in fact I bought my most recent pair one day when there was snow on the ground and nothing else had a good enough grip.

Thommasina · 21/10/2024 04:10

I have some. They are very light considering.

Great boots but unfortunately they are rhe most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn! I think I should have got half a size up. They felt OK at first but after walking in them for 40 mins they killed my feet. Have donated to dd!

PurBal · 21/10/2024 05:46

DH just bought me a pair this week. I love them already and I wonder how I've gone so long without. They feel like a comfy welly or a slipper. I've got them because I have a walk to work and my workplace is spread across multiple buildings on an old / historic site (uneven cobbles everywhere). Occasionally I have to give tours to visitors and I needed something practical and smart.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 21/10/2024 07:33

I've been wearing them since 1995. I've had 4 or 5 pairs in that time.
I wear them with almost everything!!
They have always been comfortable straight from the box. A pair lasts 5+ years.

yellowsun · 21/10/2024 09:26

I love them. I bought the cream they sell to keep them nice. I’ve had mine a couple of years and they are still great. I’m a wider (but not wide) foot and they fit perfectly.

Blahblahblah2 · 21/10/2024 09:43

I love mine, they're so comfortable. I wear them nearly every day in autumn/winter.
