Best luxury work bag?

Hello Stylish ones,

I am looking to treat myself for a big birthday having had a big promotion. .

I would like to buy a beautiful, high quality bag for work. Probably a tote of some kind. It needs to be able to carry a small laptop and purse/small make up pouch

so far I have looked at:

YSL Tote - too cavernous and floppy. Could have been from anywhere.

Valentino Rockstud tote - much thicker leather with three decent pockets inside, but not convinced by shape, a bit wide.

Fendi peekaboo- I love it, but heavy. I like the structure. Only comes in black and soft grey - bit boring.

Loewe origami - also love this but on the flip side it’s just a soft tote with not even a single inside zip pocket. Love colour choices.

Are there others I am missing here? I don’t think I want mulberry, or coach/tory burch etc.

I would like something that’s a bit of a statement but still classy and timeless. Not a fan of Birkin style or that shape particularly.

Any less obvious brands I’ve missed that do lovely bags?

Thoughts and ideas would be most welcome!

Following this and will try to contribute! Personally I think if you’re going to spend this much on a bag then it needs to stand out a little. I really love this Prada one and think it’s timeless. Only problem is the straps are quite thin so can be uncomfortable if you’re carrying a lot:

I bought and then very quickly got rid of a large Balenciaga Rodeo. It’s an absolute pain in the arse having a fold over flap bag of that size if you need to actually use it.

want to get your purse out and the counter is too high? You’re going to be perching your bag on an awkward leg bend. your phone rings whilst you walk down the road? You can retrieve the phone but trying to do the clasp up whilst holding the top handle - bloody impossible

LV Neverful, they're popular for a reason - big capacity, and sturdy. Yes they are canvas but I love mine, 12 years old and still going strong.

Various patterns/designs/linings.

A little more structured, but I have the Givency Antigona in medium for my work bag.

I have the LV On the Go in leather and love it. It's beautifully made and I got an insert made to create an extra compartment. Fits laptop and other stuff. I have had mine 2 and a bit years now and it's great, get a lot of compliments.

I also have a 10+ year old LV Totally which I use a lot, it's like the Neverfull but has a zip at the top so handy for London commuting

The linked Zadig and Voltaire looks a similar shape which I like a lot. I want to see the Valentino Rockstud in that shape (not the tote), but I can’t find one in store.

LV not really my style. Think I’m leaning to something more structured than a tote.

Also, I’d rather it wasn’t black! I work in a hot country so tend to wear lighter colours to work. Black feels quite severe.

I keep coming back to this one. I have seen the regular Rockstud tote and quality was great, really sturdy, so expect the same would be true for this? Has anyone see this one int he flesh?! I know it’s black but looks better in black than tan.

Otherwise they have this in raffia which is GORGEOUS and I get a slightly less luxe work bag…. Decisions decisions…

Lv neverfull but in black emperinte leather not the canvas. Its understated amd would only know if you looked at the indent

I went with the Valentino Rockstud in black, the hobo one. It’s light but sturdy and I love it! Not too crazy expensive and actually managed to get it in the winter sale!

Years ago, one of my clients (a judge) swore by Bottega Veneta leather totes for work. Must have sold her half a dozen in the space of two years 💕
