Good quality jeans that last

Hi all,

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I love my Levi's 501s, they are high waisted, flattering and come in bleach denim, black etc. But the quality is getting worse and worse. I bought a new pair a week ago and they have split at the seam and have a hole in?! I haven't done anything!

So where do people buy their jeans? Happy to pay up to £200 ish. I want quality that lasts!

Appreciate any tips! I shop at sezane, Anthropologie, arket etc but never really had jeans except Levi's so feeling a bit clueless!

Thank you x

Take them back @Sarahlouise86!

Sarahlouise86 · 19/10/2024 19:39

I know I should but I bought them on Amazon and it's just not worth the hassle.

I just won't buy any again!

Lee jeans are good quality and last a long time

suburburban · 19/10/2024 19:50

The M&S ones usually last.

Nap1983 · 19/10/2024 19:51

I like Diesel and Replay jeans, both last well

HoneyButterPopcorn · 19/10/2024 19:53

I always wore Levi's but the last pair I bought just felt cheap and nasty - same style I have been wearing for years but they didn't fit properly (I bought these in the U.K. but I usually buy in the states).

I got fed up and bought a pair Amazon basics jeans for £17 in a sale (they are usually about £25) and they fit well, fabric washes well, good length... I bought two more and all 3 cost less than the last Levi's which I don't wear.

MyLovelyLily · 19/10/2024 19:54

Frame denim! They really are such lovely jeans

Don't buy them from Amazon, no idea why but any I've bought from there are shite quality. I now buy either direct from Levi's site or from Zalando. Completely different quality and even fit etc, v strange

GreyTS · 19/10/2024 19:57

But other than Levi's I'd recommend Frame too

mynumber · 19/10/2024 19:59

How much did you pay for them?
I've just bought some from the Levi shop and they cost £100 - the ones on Amazon seem really cheap! Maybe they are not as good quality as from the proper shop?
Also it's really easy to return stuff on Amazon! Sometimes they refund and tell you not to bother sending items back!

I once bought Levi's in an outlet store in America - they were $14! Lasted donkeys.

Nearly all my jeans are either Hiut Denim (in Wales) or Blackhorse Lane Ateliers (in London). Both makers are top quality and will last for years. Blackhorse Lane even offer free repairs for life.

TheLeadbetterLife · 19/10/2024 22:11

Cos have good jeans—proper thick, 100% denim, organic cotton too.

I also have a pair of jeans and a denim midi skirt from La Redoute (their own label), which are excellent quality, and also organic cotton.

Bamboozie · 19/10/2024 22:15

I don’t think you even need to pay that much for decent denim these days tbh.

M&S is good quality. I have several pairs that I wear repeatedly and they wash great.

I have a few of pairs I bought from Monki and Weekday about 8 years ago - they still look fantastic.

I get a lot of denim from vinted. The market is saturated with denim jeans & you can find pretty much any style you want for less than £10 on there.

Doggymummar · 19/10/2024 22:21

Amazon returns are really easy. They come pick them up. Mostly tho they just refund you and don't want the item back. Are they fakes or seconds?

spongelover · 19/10/2024 22:36

I bought some Nike trainers from Amazon, when they arrived they had a yellow-ish tint, they're meant to be white!
I complained and they sent me a replacement without even wanting the old ones back...
The replacements were the same terrible quality.

Buy brands directly from the brand, there are too many fakes out there guising as the real deal.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/10/2024 22:47

I randomly got done jeans from Weird Fish 2 winters ago. Loved the fit so much I bought another pair. Now entering their 3rd winter, both pairs are still in great condition.

donttellthem · 19/10/2024 23:04

I can't speak for how long they will last but I've just bought two pairs of high waisted wide legged jeans (a first for me) by Mos Mosh. They are amazingly flattering.

I always bought 7 for all mankind. But they also changed fabric, supposedly to make it light etc, but all that it now means that you get crotch holes after month or two. Levi's gone same way.

VictoryOrDeath · 20/10/2024 13:52

I bought a pair of jeans from a Levis shop recently, and they seem to be great quality - I've worn them loads and I love them.

Sarahlouise86 · 20/10/2024 20:16

Thank you so much everyone!

Another hole has appeared in my jeans and spurred on by everyone I will be sending them back for a refund.

I'm going to head to the Levi's shop this weekend and try some on in person, see if the quality feels any different. They are much cheaper in price from Amazon so they are either a knock off, or a lesser quality version I suspect. I hadn't really thought about it, just thought it was a good price and needed something the next day 🙈

I'm also going to branch out and try a new brand from one of the many listed! Just need to find some time for internet browsing.

Thanks again everyone, really appreciate it.

I’m usually firmly a Levi’s girl (we have a store here so I buy there or via the Levi’s app) but was recently tempted into Abercrombie jeans - thanks, TikTok.

I’m impressed! I had to do a bit of faffing with sizes and buy/return but am really pleased. I usually get a 29 waist in Levi’s which is what I ended up with in Abercrombie (the size guide said 30 was a 12 which was huge so I then ordered a 29 and a 28 to try) but the 28 waist was actually perfect, I just preferred a slouchier overall fit. There seems to always be discount codes, and I got something like £10 off for downloading the app.

Ruthietuthie · 20/10/2024 23:51

Paige or Frame are good quality. I also like Marvi jeans, although go for the ones with 100% cotton rather than a lot of added stretch.
