Title says it all really [sigh]

Last time I was on a beach holiday was in another century, when I was size 8 and toned. I have no idea what to wear now

liking the hut! does it come in any other colours (am a jewelled winter you know

islingtonponce · 23/04/2008 23:43

re sarong. you dont want a floppy rag tied round your hips with a big knot making you lok wider than you are... you want a line skimming things. think flared tunic.

islingtonponce · 23/04/2008 23:43

"A-line"

KristinaM · 23/04/2008 23:51

i think you can do worse than check out the m and s linen shop... good neutral colours. good quality. look online if you're not near a big branch

KristinaM · 24/04/2008 00:03

thnaks ponce but i have plenty linen stuff

is M&S ok for sandles and kaftan?? i am not a big M&S fan ( apart from occasional autograph or limited collection)

will go to accessorise for hat and bag

miracle suit will not accomodate norks, according to littelwoods site. do you think it woudl if i went up a size [desperate emoticon]? i woudl LOVE to look 10lb lighter

where can i get teh sophisticated colour of beach wear Blu recommends ?

have you looked on figleaves site for swimsuit? some styles are underwired, others have soft cups which may be more accomodating? if you can try one on. if not you can always send it back.

m and s shoes frumpy / cheap looking imo. pretty balleriinas / french sole (google for sites) for fab pumps? patent birkenstocks if you're that way inclined? otherwise look where you normallly find good shoes?

am off top bed now...

Blu · 24/04/2008 11:55

I KNOW WHERE THAT HUT IS!

TillyScoutsmum · 24/04/2008 12:44

Where is it Blu ? It looks familiar to me but I can't quite place it (Brighton maybe ??)

Blu · 24/04/2008 12:46

Wells-next-the-sea, N Norfolk.
Pretty sure, anyway.

Twiglett · 24/04/2008 12:49

women with big norks CANNOT WEAR TUNIC TOPS

don't even try .. unless topping with something that brings it in around your waist

you will look like a landing craft

Janni · 24/04/2008 12:50

Nice kitchen.

A pretty swimsuit with a longish floaty shirt over the top

EffiePerine · 24/04/2008 12:53

yep, looks like Wells to me

TillyScoutsmum · 24/04/2008 12:55

oooh thanks - that would have bugged me for ages

oiFoiF · 24/04/2008 12:58

wearing this will help

BlinkingNoraWotzThat · 24/04/2008 13:17

This is a nice cover up £12 sizes 8 -20

TillyScoutsmum · 24/04/2008 13:32

Matalan and Primark are both worth a look for bargain kaftan/cover up type things (and flip flops, bags etc)

bigspender30 · 24/04/2008 13:34

Hi You should really go to Bravissimo and get a swimsuit with your cup size which will make you look and feel better. I am roughly same size as you and wear kaftan type things to the beach-or cheap sun dresses from Primark!

stickybun · 24/04/2008 13:55

Wear your baby or child.I was in a similar position a few years ago - made a point of holding baby in front of tummy in all photos and doing the one-leg-slightly-behind the other thing. Baby was 'sitting' on one arm with other one round his tum - so as well as providing vital cover if ever see pics just think 'aaaah' (mushy emoticon) rather than aaaargh! Now children have grown much taller they are able to provide improved coverage for 'troublespots' - do not tell them or they might want paying! Have heard some people will only be photographed in certain poses which they have developed beforehand - tho' would not wish to look like fat version of Ms Beckham - or any version come to that. Whilst on holiday should relax and not worry too much - there is always someone else to look at. Think can be mis. if have fab hol and then photos from hell act as jolt to system. Obv. much easier in digital age as can screen all photos. Surely Nintendo have come up with camera with airbrush stylus by now - anyone doing so would make a fortune (goes off to shed).

bigspender30 · 24/04/2008 16:13

I missed that post Mrs Badger but would linen trousers not crease really badly if travelling in them? Depends how far you are going I suppose...

MrsBadger · 24/04/2008 19:55
