Socks that stay up!

Just that. I cannot find socks that stay up if I'm wearing short boots. They always slink their way down my ankles and end up slopping about in the boots.
I'll pay top dollar for a pair that stays firmly in place around the upper ankle/lower shin area

Can you do your boots up snugger? I had one pair of boots that always made my socks end up around my toes, but it turned out that if I laced a bit tighter the socks stayed put.

They're laced up as tight as in comfy!
I'm about to reach into the pricey echelons of Falke to give a pair of theirs a try.

I recommend these. They're warm and quite tight around the top (on me at least). They don't slip down.

Interesting @elderflowerspritzer - I have other Bamboo socks which are the main falling-down-culprits. Maybe the design of yours are better. I'll take a look

I always wear these with ankle boots in winter and imagine they'd be OK unless you have very skinny calves (I'm average, around size 12 - I guess a size 6/8 might struggle?)

Can I suggest something I suggested to my mum..

If you have smallish feet, like my mum.. and you just want plain socks.. buy children's boys socks.. they seem to do the trick for her..

OhshutupSimonyounobhead · 17/10/2024 06:38

I have to wear sports socks for this very reason. Strange thing is it is always the right foot only they slip down on!

Ihavearedbag · 17/10/2024 06:40

I knit my own and make the cuff tighter than recommended. I have to wriggle them over my feet to get on but then they stay up!

faffadoodledo · 17/10/2024 06:40

I'm a whopping size 7 foot so too big for children's socks. Also, although I'm quite slim and athletic i wouldn't say I have particularly slim calves. I think I am just making poor sock choices! I have just ordered some of those Bamboo ones with a discount code so let's see.

hahaha @Ihavearedbag I have just started knitting socks. Maybe once I perfect them that can be a strategy!

I have size 7 feet and never found women’s socks were big enough, I always ended up with cold ankles and them falling down. I now always buy men’s socks and I’ve not had an issue since . I’d say try buying a pair of men’s socks and see how you get on.

Buy socks with slight compression, there are lots of brands out there now. They will have higher elastic generally and stay put.
