What's your thoughts on them? Are you still getting them done?
I don't just mean the huge dolly ones.

Anyone?

I wouldn't as I've done it twice over the years, both times my lashes were a LOT thinner and shorter afterwards, as they're super glued to your own lashes, there's just no way they don't damage them and pull them out

PearlyQueenie · 17/10/2024 10:43

I’ve had them but I’m not doing them anymore. I think they look really tacky. That said, I’ve got thick black eyelashes so I don’t really need them.

What I do now is I use a primer on my lashes. It comes out white. I cover my lashes with this, then use my mascara very carefully to cover all top lashes, even the short ones. Sometimes I use a curler. It seems to make a big difference.

bryceQ · 17/10/2024 10:43

I used to get a full natural set but it's just so much upkeep and financial investment... They looked lovely but it was too much to sustain. I might do it occasionally for a special holiday or something but not regularly

NotmySundaybest · 17/10/2024 10:46

Would a one off for holiday do any damage?

I get LVL treatment now. If you've not come across it before, it's where your lashes are tinted and curled. It is much quicker to have done (approx 30mins) and lasts until your lashes naturally shed. For me I get about 6-8 weeks out of it and it doesn't damage my lashes.

EmeraldIsla · 17/10/2024 12:29

Religious use of lash serum, combined with tinting here - no need for mascara at all, unless I really want to go all out.

PippyPip · 17/10/2024 12:31

I am another lift and tint lover as my eyelashes are naturally long (lol humble brag).

Def nothing wrong with getting extensions every once in a while for holidays or special occasions. My friends tell me they are very addicting though!

LoafofSellotape · 17/10/2024 15:11

Personally I think it's one of those things that looks better in the mirror/ photograph than in real life.

RosieCockle · 17/10/2024 15:53

I think they look too uniform and full-on, like veneers or micro-bladed brows. The clusters that you stick underneath the lash look much better and can last a few days. Not sure about swimming with them though.

Temporaryname158 · 17/10/2024 15:57

It’s a no from me, a tint or lvl is enough.

i was abroad this summer and noticed it was only really British women with fake nails and lashes and I reflected the other women looked better. I’ve stopped my nails and now only tint my lashes

OnlyFrench · 17/10/2024 16:02

I had them for years without issues then had to change technician when I moved. Complete disaster and two years later my lashes haven't recovered

Yorkshiredolls · 17/10/2024 16:03

Yes Ive just gone back to hybrid lashes after a 6 month break and so happy I have. I ask for a Pretty look rather than full glam or heavy. They were fine after I had my last set taken off in the spring and had lvl for a while which was ok but just not the same.

Its nice to look in the mirror in the morning feeling pretty and good to go, dont need makeup foundation or eyeliner anymore and no smudged mascara eyebags visible. They are a little bit of upkeep but I don’t get botox or waxing or nails done so why not if thats my thing that makes me feel nice

Green777 · 17/10/2024 16:03

My daughter used to get them but now says they’re out and have been labelled ‘new money’ 😂

UpToonGirl · 17/10/2024 16:03

If I could find someone that does really natural lashes I would get them done. I've had them twice before and both times they just were too much...I am also a horrific picker and couldn't leave them alone.

I've not actually been that impressed with LVL the last couple of times so I don't bother anymore.

twentysevendresses · 17/10/2024 16:12

I was persuaded to have these last year when I was bridesmaid for a friend. I didn't want them, as my own lashes are already long (and lovely 🥰). She (the bride) kept going on and on that all the other bridesmaids and herself were getting them done, she wanted 'a unified look' etc, so I complied.

I looked utterly ridiculous and they were super annoying!! I could feel them hitting my upper eyelid every time I blinked 😫

Couldn't wait to pull the bastards out after the sodding wedding!

GretchenWienersHair · 17/10/2024 16:13

I love them. Not too thick or crazy like I see some teenagers/young women wear, but a nice classic or hybrid set is lovely.

🙄 to the “new money” comment.

EngineEngineNumber9 · 17/10/2024 16:14

I occasionally get them done if I’m going to something like a wedding. But not for day to day. I use black castor oil which has made my natural lashes fuller so I little mascara is enough for me now.

BamberGirl · 17/10/2024 16:28

im also a lash serum user (UKLash), makes a big difference but takes 6-8 weeks. I then have LVL type treatment every 3-4 months and they look brilliant, no mascara needed, though I sometimes use clear. If I use normal mascara for a night out they are really long!!
