What colour suitcase for 25 yo DD?

I should know what she will like but I don’t. It’s going to be Xmas present as she travels a lot for short breaks and uses our old battered one. Black seems boring, silver too, not sure if rose gold is still a thing. What would your young adult relations would see as lovely?

If it's a short break what size does she take? Hand luggage or check in?

Also what's your budget, doors she prefer hard or soft shell, and can you give us an idea of her taste? How she dresses etc?
My SIL would love a rose gold suitcase, I would hate it , you'd probably tell that by looking at how we both dress

Cabin case, it’s only the colour I am note sure about - safe black or bright colour like sky blue or rose gold. Or silver? She is very neutral and stylish in Parisian cliche kind of way, but does not mind a flash of red or green.

DD has many suitcases in diminishing sizes (after a year abroad). At the last count she had lilac, yellow, duck egg and turquoise, plus a cream backpack-style. She likes them to be easy to spot, so no black or navy.

I bought a lovely mint Tripp hard shell and it got quite badly scratched the first time I used it.

So, not sure about colours, but would recommend soft shell.

This one in either black or silver.

I’d go for a distinctive colour or pattern as well, so it’s easy to spot. Turquoise?

You may have already thought to check the budget carriers cabin bag size but do check if not. Annoyingly my standard cabin bag which I've used for years no longer fits. Tripp have great options for colours.

I bought a Tripp in pink and black with an orchid pattern. It’s instantly visible on the luggage belt and I have never seen another one like it.

Do you know her favourite colour(s) in other things, even if you don't think you know a preference for suitcases? It's really not a generic age thing. I'm only a couple of years older than your DD. I would say I like bright colours, but actually my suitcase is red wine coloured - best of the options for the size and type I wanted when purchasing.

I would avoid pale colours as showing marks and dirt too easily. The suitcase will be spending its time getting tossed onto baggage carousels, squashed between other suitcases, etc.

Get a case in the colours that she wears,as you would do for a bag.

My 25yo dd wouldn't like rose gold at all. For short breaks she uses a black backpack (the sort that zips open so you can pack it properly not just stuff things in).

If it was a case that would be checked in and so more distinctive would be better she'd probably like a dark green.

I am 28 and plan to buy this one soon! (Have seen a few people on tiktok with the same style/colour)
