Shapewear recommendations

I'm after some decent shape wear for my wedding day. Don't mind spending a bit more than "reasonable" for something that does the job and is comfortable enough to wear all day. I'm midsize with a tummy, which is what I'm most keen to hold in so I'm not conscious of it all day. Likely to be wearing either tailored trouser suit or a tulle maxi skirt with a top if that makes any difference.

I've worn M&S ones before which cut under the bust so you can wear a separate bra and considering something like this.

Thanks!

Bumping this post as I was about to post the same thing. I want an all in one that is easy to manage in the loo!

I recently bought 2 items from M&S.
The 1st type are shorts which come up to under the bra line. I assumed they'd roll down and make a tyre when I sat/moved about it, but they didn't. Easy enough to use the loo and a fairly, firm control- yet comfortable.

The 2nd, were similar, but slightly less support around the stomach and with little arms to hold it up more. I haven't worn it yet, but assume it would be trickier to get it off for the loo because of the shoulder straps.

Another option would be a corset, but I have no recommendations.
Edited to say that I'm a size 18.

This figure-framing body makes a strong starting point when you're putting outfits together. Wear with your own bra. Finished with sheer striped inserts for a bold look.

Thanks @JC03745. I have been looking at the second one you posted on the website. The black version didn't have a photo of the crotch so it's helpful to see that it has fastenings rather that a "hole"! You say that it's not as supportive around the tummy. How good is really at squishing a flabby tum as that's what I need it to do.

With the first one you posted, does it also have poppers at the crotch or do you need to pull it down when you use the loo?

JC03745 · 18/10/2024 11:30

@dollopofsauce I linked the wrong, 2nd item above! Apologies. Neither of the ones I have, have poppers. I'd read reviews of those being a PITA to close again, so avoided.
The longer shorts, style, I just pull on/off for the loo.

The other type I bought, does have the little arms, but is a skirt at the bottom. It does provide some tummy/thigh control, but I did find the shorts/cinch type firmer- despite both products being called 'firm control'. As said, I've never worn the 2nd style other than trying it on, so not sure how comfy it is all day.

@dollopofsauce I have the second one linked above, in black. I bought my usual size and found it excellent; easy to put on, wear and fasten/ unfasten poppers. I think it gives really good tummy control.
