Help with skincare

I have been somewhat neglectful about my skincare over the years and am now looking for some advice on what to include in it.
i am 51 and up until recently people have said I don’t look my age. I am now seeing some signs of hyperpigmentation and fine lines around my eyes.
in the morning I use a gel cleanser or micellar water followed by an eye gel and light moisturiser. I have started to use one with SPF 25 plus but this is a pretty recent addition.
min the evening I use a cleansing balm, have just started to add 1% retinol (the ordinary) and either a facial oil or a heavier moisturiser. Not too heavy as I tend to find it clogs my skin and I get small areas of breakouts.
i have looked at The Ordinary website but am coming confused as to what else I should/could be adding to help with the hyperpigmentation and texture.
i also use a face mask such a Drunk Elephant Sukari Babyfacial once a week or so. Should I stop this with the retinol use?

Tretinoin- much better than otc retinol. Try Dermatica, they’ll do an online consultation tell you what you need and formulate a prescription.
Hyalonuric acid
Good moisturiser with SPF
Cleanse with micellar water or cleanser with salicylic acid for the clogged pores.

You need a separate SPF to moisturizer, you wouldn't be applying enough moisturizer to get 25SPF protection from it.
I'm really not sure why they're allowed to advertise products as containing SPF because it's leading people to think that they're protected adequately when they're not!

I thought the ordinary retinol was useless and it did absolutely nothing for me. I know a lot of people use it but I think there's quite a few who also found it did nothing also. Even the No7 0.03% was a lot stronger for me.
