Please help me find THE Chelsea boots!!!

Afternoon everyone!

I have been looking for what seems like years for my perfect Chelsea boots and just can’t find exactly what I want! I’ve ended up with a couple of cheap pairs ‘to make do with’ until I find THE pair but I still haven’t found them!

I’m aware I’m fussy but they must be out there somewhere.

Requirements:
Genuine leather
Black
Chunky sole
Maybe slight heel - don’t mind either way on this
Rounded/wider toe-this seems my biggest issue-so many have what I think is a weird narrow shape at the front
Not too low on the ankle
Under £200

These are pretty close, but might be slightly too low on the ankle.

As I said, I know I’m being fussy, but do you maybe own or have you seen somewhere what I’m describing and could point me in the right direction please? I’d be very grateful!

There are loads more, but tend to be faux leather once you go under the £75 mark

I’ve actually got those Other Stories boots, they’re very comfy and definitely higher than the Shoe the Bear Ones the OP first linked to.

I don’t know if they’re available where you are, but I consider the Caslon Miller boot to be perfect. They are on sale on some US sites for as low as $60. Last year they were twice that. They’re beautiful leather and the perfect shape. I love mine!

Have a look at Heavenly Feet , they have some lovely ones , not leather as they are vegan friendly but super light , reasonably priced and really comfortable

Thanks so much everyone! Lots to look at there, but I’m still not sure I’ve found the ones! I should have said, I love some Dr Martens ones but I don’t like the yellow stitching so that rules most of them out.

@DanielaDressen the JL ones are nice aren’t they? Almost perfect! What do you think of either of these? These are also mega close I think! Losing the will a little now..I do this then give up the search. 🙈

These are so uncomfortable. I can’t get on with Timberlands, despite trying multiple times.

i would highly recommend Gabor - I went up half a size and they are always straight out of the box comfort. I’ve just bought the Marissa in the Pepper suede as I didn’t want black leather, but here’s the same style in black leather: www.gaborshoes.co.uk/womens-c1/boots-c3/chelsea-boots-c75/marissa-ladies-chelsea-boots-p51574/s744785?cid=GBP&glCurrency=GBP&glCountry=GB&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADlz8oBdLdd0AYox26z83V9Ie0bb5&gclid=Cj0KCQjwm5e5BhCWARIsANwm06jPv5LIYQQmvkCYx1k3xTnRTmYaI5ig__HbsozK0CmpwuDiScTUXZ4aAuIrEALw_wcB

Mine are black M&S ones. Roughly £70 from memory.

I have Fly boots, they’re not as chunky as the JL ones you linked to and I love the JL ones so much I’m going to order them!

Same. I think they’re awesome

these aren't a chelsea boot to me though, they are far too chunky

I bought two pairs of these I like them so much. I do recommend stuffing them with newspaper / boot holder to keep their shape best.

This was me last year. I struggled to find the perfect pair too and ended up with these ones from Clark's which have been perfect. https://www.clarks.com/en-gb/orinoco-2-lane/26163619-p?gadsource=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvpy5BhDTARIsAHSilynJxxIU0qDop3cIJxgUqlbtCvsXXUTuXyunniGc3JvNkHi37YDddAwaAmKGEALwwcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Embassy London - lovely comfy boots which I've had for 2 yrs and wear constantly for work. I think they were £160. Top of your budget but they are lasting well.

Gbtch · 09/11/2024 21:30

Haven’t read the other responses. Mine is , without hesitation, doc Martens. Comfy, anti establishment, the bee’s knees. Nothing else compares.

Thanks again everyone! I think I’m maybe just not keen on the style that’s mainly around at the mo. Lots of the ones linked have the narrow, pointy type of toe which just doesn’t float my boat somehow. The stitchless DMs are quite nice but I’m still not totally convinced on any…! 🙈 Maybe it’s just not meant to be! I think the closest for me are the Timberland Everleigh which I actually poured over last year and never pulled the trigger then either and maybe something’s stopping me again now…oh I don’t know. Sorry to be so useless and thank you all…really helpful bunch!

Paraboots are insanely good quality - pricey though

Dr Martens do several pairs of Chelsea boots without visible stitching. There is the mono pair that I don't think even have stitching. My offspring has them and lives in them. I think if you go into a store they may also have varying sle thicknesses. I think they're about £190?

Gbtch · 09/11/2024 23:07

DMs all the way. The polish soon tones down the stitches. (Tats sad in my view , but as you don’t like the stitches…)
