Afternoon everyone!

I have been looking for what seems like years for my perfect Chelsea boots and just can’t find exactly what I want! I’ve ended up with a couple of cheap pairs ‘to make do with’ until I find THE pair but I still haven’t found them!

I’m aware I’m fussy but they must be out there somewhere.

Requirements:
Genuine leather
Black
Chunky sole
Maybe slight heel - don’t mind either way on this
Rounded/wider toe-this seems my biggest issue-so many have what I think is a weird narrow shape at the front
Not too low on the ankle
Under £200

These are pretty close, but might be slightly too low on the ankle.

As I said, I know I’m being fussy, but do you maybe own or have you seen somewhere what I’m describing and could point me in the right direction please? I’d be very grateful!

I spent most of last year searching for the perfect Chelsea boot. I've got really narrow feet, which makes it even harder.

The ones I was chasing are different I guess to your ideal, as I wanted a more country style, and brown leather. I love these from Hoggs anyway.

Not genuine leather but purchased in Primark for £18 in an emergency as I only had my trainers with me on a very rainy day and they're super duper comfy 🙈
Excuse the mud I took a cross-country detour!

I got these tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/product/tuc144422958

In Sainsbury’s- leather, £45
They're great, wide enough toe box for my bunion, and very comfortable

WhatterySquash · 14/10/2024 16:30

I also have the DM Alyson Wintergrip and I think they tick all your boxes. V comfortable and wear mine all the time.

Unicorntastic · 14/10/2024 16:46

Blundstone, I've just got some exactly as you describe.

ILookingLikeABeautifulDay · 14/10/2024 17:47

Thanks again everyone! I think I’m maybe just not keen on the style that’s mainly around at the mo. Lots of the ones linked have the narrow, pointy type of toe which just doesn’t float my boat somehow. The stitchless DMs are quite nice but I’m still not totally convinced on any…! 🙈 Maybe it’s just not meant to be! I think the closest for me are the Timberland Everleigh which I actually poured over last year and never pulled the trigger then either and maybe something’s stopping me again now…oh I don’t know. Sorry to be so useless and thank you all…really helpful bunch!

La Redoute have some discounts at the moment. I bought some Tamaris chelsea boots on there last night, they're a good brand for wide feet

I second the Birkenstock Highwood - they are nice and wide at the toe and extremely comfortable. I went for chocolate suede rather than black leather but they look good!

Blundstone
They are just as you describe. I've been wearing them for about 30 years. They go with everything.

Shoemadlady · 14/10/2024 23:07

Esska do lovely Chelsea boots

ForGreyKoala · 15/10/2024 07:13

Another vote for Blundstones. Very comfortable to wear.

I've got the Ugg Ashton Chelsea boots and they have really chunky soles and are wide at the toe. They've never needed breaking in either.

AgreeToDisagreeSometimes · 15/10/2024 08:33

Have you tried Moschino? Their Chelsea boots are less than £200

NorthernSoul55 · 15/10/2024 11:22

I've just bought Fly Salv boots. Wore them for the first time yesterday, all day, so comfortable.
Under £100 on Amazon. I got mine on Prime Day with a good reduction. Look very similar to my DDs Docs.

Sorry to hijack this post OP, but following as I'm also looking for some leather or leather look Chelsea boots! Although not the chunky sort and my budget is considerably less at £50-60.....

I've got these (a bit more than your budget but maybe still possible?) in wide fit and am very happy with them. https://www.marksandspencer.com/wide-fit-leather-chelsea-ankle-boots/p/clp60683107?color=BLACKMIX The "Black Mix" is leather upper, I think the standard black is suede.

Mine were from Hotter (!) and about £90 two years ago - quite a chunky sole and a rounded toe.

Sadly they don't seem to do anything similar now.

rainfallpurevividcat · 15/10/2024 12:48

Other than that, TU (Sainsbury's) have been my best bet for boots recently, though you have to get them as soon as you see them as they never seem to restock.

I have some gunmetal ankle boots which I wear so often in autumn/winter, really well made though PVC rather than leather and so comfortable, they were about £25.
