Quick tips needed to look less exhausted

I haven’t been sleeping or eating well lately and I have a very full on job with lots of stress. I feel like this is really starting to show. I look exhausted. I probably need my hair doing (highlights etc) but for various reasons that won’t happen for a few weeks.

What are some other quick fixes to make me look and feel less stressed and knackered?

I'd concentrate on what you're putting into your body.

If stress is making you drink more alcohol, cut that out - this will make a huge difference to the the way you look. And will probably help improve your sleep too.

Drink more water. I also find making smoothies from frozen fruit is a quick and easy way to get some good nutrients in.

Feed yourself better - if you're relying on convenience foods buy healthier convenience options, for instance there are microwave prepped veg bags and healthier ready meals, pre prepped oven meals etc.

Or you're getting takeaways you'll get better/cheaper options at the supermarket that you can either just shove in the oven or microwave. You can feed yourself well without having to actually cook is my point.

On the outside - I'd make sure you're looking after your skin so cleanse/moisturise every morning. A little bit of makeup if you're so inclined. Random recommendation but soaking your feet of an evening is ridiculously relaxing.

A really good multivitamin. Lots of nice fruit and veg. Less caffeine, tempting as it is. More water. When you apply face cream really massage it in. Undereye concealer.

Fresh air.

Avocados.

Music rather than screens, especially in the evening.

Obviously as little alcohol as possible. And no coffee after midday.

If you don’t already rinse your face with very cold water morning and evening - start doing so.

Thanks all! I am definitely going to try some of your tips across this weekend and hopefully see some results. I slept quite well last night - although I went to sleep quite late and had a little bit of a lie in this morning. I was in a double bed alone which I think makes a difference!

I can’t believe I didn’t think of increasing my fruit and veg! That’s how exhausted I am at the moment. Going to have a lovely snack of watermelon and mango (with a croissant because baby steps). Have slapped on a really rich body butter over my usual lotion which feels like a bit of a treat and done my facial skin care. Going to dig out my trusty Chanel bronzer (possibly the one item in my make up bag which makes the most instant impact on how I look) and make an effort to look less like an early Halloween decoration.

Thanks all!!!

Vitamin c serum in the morning.

Botox works for me. A tiny bit in the forehead (can't say exactly where - that's the doctor's job) lifts my eyebrows and makes me look more wide eyed and awake. No one else ever notices but I know if I look in the mirror and look a bit dim and sleepy it's time for a top up.

Apart from that, blusher, fruit and veg and exercise also help.

If not remembering vegetables and fruit is an issue - the very best thing would be to sign up for a weekly veg box.

Don’t believe anything you’ve heard. If you opt for Riverford, for instance, you can choose exactly what you want in any delivery, and they don’t have to be every week. (Though obviously you want to increase your consumption.) Minimum spend is currently £15.

Really does support skin and weight and general health management.
