Budget kids trousers w/ tight/slim waist

Any recommendations for brands that do trousers / joggers with a tight waist and aren't too expensive? Ideally tight in the waist and long in the leg (slim 3 year old).

Zara's trousers fit perfectly but are pretty expensive.

H&M and M&S are too loose in the waist, even with the drawstring tied.

Thanks!

Boy or girl? It's a while since mine were that age but I always found it harder for boys clothes so if looking for a boy you could try neutral colours in the girls section.

Ah I hadn’t thought of that! It’s for a 3 year old boy. I’ll check to see if the girls fit is different.

Ridiculously, age 4 might fit better, as they won't be cut for nappies at that age.

Ooh interesting, good shout, i’ll check that out. 2 year old M&S joggers are still too big at the waist (though too short at leg), but i’ll compare in store to the 4yr size.

Another thing you can do with joggers and PJ bottoms is to thread some elastic through the waistband to reduce the size.
