Eyebrow colour - help, baffled now

I used to have dark hair and dark eyebrows. Now my hair is an icy white (natural, stopped dyeing) and my eyebrows are very sparse and white. I had been using a dark brown pencil to fill them in and colour what's still there. However, had a reality check at the hairdressers when I saw myself in her mirror and realised they were way too dark.
A mid-brown is too gingery, so I ordered a grey eyebrow pencil which arrived today. But that looks all wrong too, it's a kind of bluey-ashy colour.
Before I give up and cut a fringe to hide the blasted problem brows, does anyone have any suggestions as to which shade would fit? My lashes are still black and very long, thank goodness.

My hair is now white. I use a light blonde eyebrow pencil.

@Soluckyinlove - thank you, I never thought of blonde. Is there a brand you'd recommend?

I actually use an Avon one. I stocked up last time they were on offer.

Thanks all, I think it will be trial and error - I'll start with ash, blonde and taupe and see how I get on.

I have ashy brown hair and my once strong brows are sparse. I use the lightest colour pencil or brow mascara , usually designed for blondes.

Benefit's lightest colour (no. 1) might work for you. It's not the cheapest so try it out at a counter if you can. I like Goof Proof and the volumising pencil the best but they have several different types.
