November wedding is this okay?

I have a wedding to attend in November and I've no idea what to wear. I have this dress and was thinking maybe it would be okay with a pashmina? What colour though? I also can no longer wear heels after an injury to my foot. To me that is very clearly a summer dress, so even with a coat and boots I would think it odd at a formal, dressy event in November in the UK.

But it’s perfectly ‘smart’, so no reason why you shouldn’t wear it if you want to!

Yeah I thought that too but hoped I could get away with it. Back to the wardrobe to see what else I've got.
