12 days to a major event and I look like a sack of spuds- WWYD?

Yes, I've known it was coming for over a year. No, I haven't lost the 2 stone I intended to. Hair is a frizzy mess, nails are shot to shit after getting gels and picking it off ibstead of removing it properly. Yep Im the whole package!

With just over a week WWYD or rather prioritse to look and feel slightly less shit?

Get a good haircut and some anti-frizz serum
Cut out bread, pasta and biscuits and drink water for every drink
Use a good moisturiser day and night
If you can afford it, botox (you did ask what we would do!)
Get some good underwear that fits you properly
Have you sorted your outfit yet? What about shoes?

GettingStuffed · 07/10/2024 17:39

Hair mask should help get rid of the frizz if not try and updo. The avoidance of carbs is just a crash diet and may not have the intended result, only you know if it'll make you feel bad or better.

Remember that you are your own harshest critic..

Perhaps give us an idea of height and size too plus what outfit you intend to wear.

Hair cut and then embrace my inner spud

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 07/10/2024 17:40

Get hair done
get nails done
buy heavy duty control underwear.
buy clothes to wear that fit the shape you have not the one you wish you have

doodleschnoodle · 07/10/2024 17:41

Shapewear, manicure to make stubby nails looks a bit better, haircut or at least a blow dry before you go.

Whyherewego · 07/10/2024 17:42

Get your eyebrows done and whatever works hair wise (blow dry? Colour?).
You're not going to change shape by then... my go to is some spanx style undies and some hold you in tights

CMOTDibbler · 07/10/2024 17:44

If you can, book a blow dry for the day of the event, otherwise book a cut and intensive treatment ahead. Get a manicure so even if your nails are short they are really tidy and a pretty colour. Eyebrows shaped (I'm rubbish at them and though I don't do a lot with my brows someone else sorting them makes a world of difference).
Put on a nice outfit and have a great time and don't worry about the rest, then you'll always look great

Acunningruse · 07/10/2024 17:46

Thank you. I may draw the line at botoxGrin

Outfit- sigh. Got a whole host of outfits arriving tomorrow so 🤞 something looks ok. Shoes will either be nude heels, leopard print pointed sling backs or black pointed courts depending what dress I go for.

You can easily drop half a stone in 12 days. Go on Slimfast or something similar.

Get your hair done.

Buy an outfit that's flattering rather than what's in fashion.

Wear good jewellery and lovely shoes and a decent handbag.

Get someone professional to do your make up. They can contour your face go make it look slimmer.

Look after your skin religiously foe the next twelve days.

Lose that half a shine it will make a big difference!

I could have written that. Have had ages to get ready for granddaughter’s wedding, now I’m panicking about fit of dress, what can be done with my poor, fine hair etc.
Hopefully they’ll be so busy looking at the bride I can fade into the background!

Doggymummar · 07/10/2024 18:32

But something that fits properly. Amazing shape wear. Hair, brows nails done, teeth whitening if you can afford, else a kit to do at home. Statement jewellery and shoes, SLAY

PippyPip · 07/10/2024 18:32

Hair cut (and colour if necessary!)
Eyebrows waxed and tinted
Eyelash lift and tint
Nails
All over body scrub, moisturise and shave
Face scrub, moisturise and defuzz
New make up, outfit, good sucky in underwear 🤣
