Christmas party

I have a work Xmas party fast approaching and it's at a posh venue. The trouble is, I'm just over 6ft tall and on the large side (size 20). I also have horrible ankles so won't show them. I don't really feel comfortable in dresses even when I can find them down to the floor which is rare. Help me please 🙏 I don't want to look like a frump or like I'm wearing a glittery sack but I don't want too fitted either. Something flattering ideally but it's hard when you're a giant 😭 I also find shoes impossible as I have large feet, big calves and like I said, the ankles!

Thank you. I've been on Roman and ordered some things to try. The simply be dress is a no though as I dont think it would flatter my figure and I would have to show my ankles so absolutely no way that's happening

Laura Adlington’s list is very High St, the other two are wider ranging. They all cover daywear, plus lingerie and gym clothes. Between the three lists you would be able to find a complete new wardrobe of work wear.

If you browse those three lists you should find a few places whose clothes seem appropriate, both for your height and for your party. (They obviously cover evening wear as well.)

By the way, there are plenty of things you can wear that are not a dress! Why not look for a brand that does great velvet trousers for instance? Then wear them whatever kind of top or jacket you feel happiest in.
