My finger is hovering over the buy button for coup!e of weeks now. These are my two I love.
I am drawn to the purple but black will go with anything.
Are they worth the money?
Do you get hit with import tax if you have bought one?
Is this the weekend I actually press buy?

I really wasn’t expecting to like these, but I think the purple is lovely actually. It’s not a bright purple so if that’s the one you actually really love then go for it I think!

yellowbananasorangemelons · 04/10/2024 17:41

The purple one is beautiful but it's an awful lot of money to pay for a rain coat that's not suitable for heavy showers!

MintyNew · 04/10/2024 17:43

I think they look too Mary Poppins like.

Also, it looks as good because the models are wearing heels and it suits that look. Practically how would you dress this up or is this only for special occasions wear? What type of bottoms suit this style of raincoat?

Flamingmentalcats · 04/10/2024 17:45

I know, and it's way way more than I would ever pay but I have a bit of money just for me and they appeal to the elegant part of me, when I am more casual. It's mumsnet's fault as I would never have stumbled across them unless I was them on here 😂😂

They are beautiful but they wouldn’t look great with say a pair of jeans or wide leg trousers. Probably look ok with tight trousers/short skirt. And depending on footwear…

I think the outfit underneath would have to be too specific for me

SpikeyHousePlant · 04/10/2024 17:49

Yes you’d definitely pay customs are we aren’t in the EU.

Carseatcarq · 04/10/2024 17:54

Very Wednesday Adams, love it. But not as a raincoat since it's not actually waterproof.

Whatcolou · 04/10/2024 17:57

I have this coat and love it. I’ve never got wet with it even on heavy showers.

i mostly wear dresses with tights and ankle boots and this is long enough to be longer than dresses on me.

Flamingmentalcats · 04/10/2024 18:03

I live in wide leg jeans and trousers with a jumper or cardi. I am very casual. Thanks Spikey, I am not good at style and never thought about that. I think you have just saved me a lot of money

@Flamingmentalcats 😌 Maybe a trench coat style would suit you better then. That’s if you are looking for a coat and this wasn’t just an impulse possible purchase!!!

IDontHateRainbows · 05/10/2024 07:13

The PP saying mary Poppins look is right!

If you're a casual dresser then this won't suit your style. It's a no from me, not with the money.

soupfiend · 05/10/2024 07:23

I think they're beautiful but like others, dont really wear the sort of outfit I could wear with it, If Im going for a walk its going to be jeans or jogging bottoms and if Im going to work its boring black polyester trousers with black 'workshoes', not attractive and would actually ruin the coat

I would love to look like that 50s style nipped in waist with little petite ankles coming out the bottom in nice shoes but I dont look like that!
