Seasalt Coat Sizing

Diggetydawg · 03/10/2024 18:03

I am a size 10-12 and have a Seasalt Planthunter coat in a size 10 that's too big for me, it's not flattering at all ! I would prefer a longer one so thinking about getting the Janelle. Is the sizing the same as the Planthunter ? I think an 8 would be better for that one actually but should I get a 10 or 12 for the Janelle? It's too expensive so buy 2 and return so I want to be sure.

They're really good at returns if it's no good .

I have a Janelle, haven’t had a plant hunter to compare it to. I have it in my normal size, which is roomy enough to wear a thick jumper under, but not huge. If that helps!

I actually think the Janelle is quite fitted - I have a coverack in a 10 but Janelle in 12. I'm a pretty standard 12 usually.

M&S now have seasalt in some stores, might be worth checking if there's one near you so you can try on??

I just bought a Janelle . I bought a 12 which I always am and it's very narrow on the shoulders

I just bought a Janelle online and was trying to decide between two sizes. I got the larger one thinking I would be able to wear thick jumpers under it. I think they are quite a slim fit and whilst it fits me I will only be able to wear a thin top under it.

They have Seasalt in my local M&S but no coats, just dresses and similar. Maybe larger ones might have coats but check before making a special trip.

Agreed Janelle is much more fitted than a lot thei coats. I think it's suited to taller people who don't have wide hips i.e not me! It's a pretty long coat and I struggled with the shape over my hips.

chalkyc2 · 06/10/2024 06:17

They do a petite version of the Janelle which I found good!

It is nice that it's more fitted and I think it looks lots smarter than the planthunter and some of the others but it is a sizing headache I agree!

Partridgewell · 06/10/2024 06:32

I am a 10/12 and have had both a 10 and a 12 Janelle - the 10 was snug on the hips and boobs. If you're a curvy 10/12, the 12 might be a better bet.

SpiderDijon · 06/10/2024 09:50

I'm a size 10 and have just bought a janelle coat in 10 and it's a bit tight over the shoulders and arms when I wear with a jumper so I've just reordered in a 12. I bought the petite version, I don't know if that makes a difference though.

Diggetydawg · 08/10/2024 19:23

I'm 5ft 8 so don't need petite. Sounds like the 12 will be best. Thanks everyone. There is a big M&S near me that sells Seasalt but don't know if they do coats. I'll order the 12 and see how I get on with it.
