Hi! Which do you prefer to wear with jeans? They're both about the same price.
Nike Dunk Low Vs New Balance 327.

New Balance are slightly comfier, but I doubt I'll be hiking in these colour trainers!

Or if neither, any other suggestions for light coloured comfy trainers.

Ignore my rolled up jeans

I really loved those NB ones and was close to getting some, but they seemed to be worn by everyone last summer and I’ve been out off them. Plus they’re incredibly slippery underfoot apparently.

I know the dunks are everywhere too but are more of a classic so less dated. Think they’d look better with jeans too. The NB look good with dresses though.

EmeraldIsla · 02/10/2024 11:15

My 327s in a similar light colourway aren't going to be out much now till Spring (although I have them in several colours LOL), but they are SO comfortable. I wouldn't wear them to go on e.g. a proper dog walk, but on days out I can do 8+ miles in them with no issues at all.

Illogically, given that they are obviously quite chunky, I also love that they somehow make my feet look smaller.

NB all the way for me.

FasterMichelin · 02/10/2024 13:48

Nike for me. I think they're classic and won't go off trend in the same way as NB, which I personally think are ugly and just a passing trend 🫣

Cherrytreat · 04/10/2024 06:58

Thank you for the replies. Do the new balance go scruffy quick? I wonder if the Nikes will last longer . Still undecided

NB are far superior for comfort, but Nikes are probably more long lasting trend wise. I'd say nike would be better for autumn/winter though those colours are more spring/summer.

I like the beige/black versions of sambas and pumas which I think will be popular for the darker seasons.

Cherrytreat · 04/10/2024 07:19

Thank you...I've just been looking at the Puma Palermo, I really like them. Might just return both pairs of trainers instead.

I like both, although I'd lean towards new balance as we head towards winter. Nikes are pretty rigid so do crease and get mis shapen quite quickly and the soles seem to be mud magnets, in my experience 🙂 you can buy inserts to help prevent it but they just look uncomfortable to me

lopdoo · 04/10/2024 07:26

I've just bought the Palermos for autumn 😊

I prefer these 👍

The black Palermo are on sale £35 at Footlocker. Ordered those instead 😁. Thank you

NB looks nicer

I prefer chunky

They wont go out of fashion .
Trainers aren't built to last forever . Especially white ones

I agree

TheChosenTwo · 04/10/2024 09:31

I really like the NB except for they horrible triangle that goes up the back, it makes them look like toddler trainers!
I’ve never bought a pair despite finding a pair that I almost loved last year (with the exception of that stupid back bit), they look so comfortable 🫣
glad you have found something you preferred.

JustJazzy · 04/10/2024 16:42

Out of these 2 I'd go with dunks. But honestly go with the ones you find most comfortable. I'm personally not a fan of 327s, I had them a few years ago and didn't find them that comfortable and everyone and their nan has been wearing them where I live for the last few years so I'm sick looking at them.
Dunks be easier to keep clean too.

I personally prefer black/dark trainers for the a/w.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 05/10/2024 11:40

It’s a pity that out of both trainers the 327 would suit my feet better than the Nike Dunk.

When I say suit I mean more comfy for my Plantar Fasciitis recovered feet. The Puma Palermo are great but my feet wouldn’t cope.

I need some new trainers as my New Balance with leopard print trim (not the ones you see now) are getting a bit old after daily wear.

I did buy in Tu Sainsburys sale some flat gum sole trainers in a light/sugar pink, which strangely enough are really comfy.

I’ve got 3 pairs of 327s and they’re not particularly slippy underfoot at least not from my wearing. Have worn all trainers in rain. Yes I’m a sheep for buying them but they’re comfy on me plus I love the blue ones and the lighter ones I have.

lopdoo · 05/10/2024 11:43

@Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain yes as a fellow plantar fasciitis suffering 327s are amazing, I've lived in mine (with insoles also) since developing it.

Inslopia · 05/10/2024 11:46

327s are very comfortable but I find them very slippy on wet pavements & they are a bit 2022

lopdoo · 05/10/2024 11:49

@Inslopia well it would be pretty bad for the environment if everyone followed fashion trends to the extent they felt compelled to change their shoes every year. 327s are still pretty prevalent in my home town, though when I was in London this week it was Sambas I saw everywhere.

Cyclingmummy1 · 05/10/2024 12:05

The Nikes look a better fit.

Inslopia · 05/10/2024 12:15

@lopdoo But the OP is looking for a new pair of trainers? Where have I said you should throw away 327s?

FastFood · 05/10/2024 12:17

NBs by far.
I don't like Dunk that I find very much "trainers for teenagers or people who don't really like trainers".

Inslopia · 05/10/2024 12:17

Trainer trends also don’t change that quick that you need to change them annually. I mean Sambas have been a thing for years & have peaked now.

Cherrytreat · 05/10/2024 12:19

Thanks for all your input!

I took them both back - but I did really like them both, just the light colours not really practical, maybe in spring they would be perfect.

I have ordered these black Puma easy riders and black Palermo with a discount code too. They seem really good value compared to 327's.

I really don't like spending money on trainers, always had my kids hand me downs when they were my size. But now their feet are way bigger than mine so I have to bite the bullet.
