Are designer sample sales worth it?

I have a couple of big events next year that I am planning ahead for. Someone suggested I go to an upcoming Jimmy Choo sample sale so I signed up for that and also a Mulberry one.

Since then I've read a lot about how crowded and pushy these events can be and I am starting to wonder will it be worth it ? Are the sale prices really that good? Will there be lots of choice or just a few tatty old bits that they couldn't shift last season?

I love a bargain but wonder will any potential savings make up for being crowded and jostled?

This a new world for me I'd be very grateful for advice advice from more experienced shoppers.

It's always anyone's guess if there will be bargains or not (and if those appeal to you, in general being a sample size will give you the most choice) but at minimum there's discounts comparable to the sales. Sometimes there are items that need repairs that will be deeply discounted so always check thoroughly. Best attitude to go in with is not to want something specific and just be taken by something, it's not the place to go hunting for staples.

As for crowds overwhelming things, it's usually well managed by the organisers, you might need to wait in line but it's not like once you're inside people are trampling over each other. Once you get to paying there's usually another line so it's mostly just a lot of waiting around and you can usual meet some interesting people along the way.

I just went to my first one (Jimmy Choo). Got two pairs of ankle boots, perfect for upcoming events for £140 each. I am delighted with them. Not too busy, queues were short. Excellent. Although it probably helps that I am a size 3/4 so perfect show sample size.
