Can anyone recommend a facial oil for a late 40s women with mild rosacea- looking for something soothing and lovely to use. Happy to pay a bit for the right product.

thank you!

I really like the ones from neals yard

however I’d steer clear of anything that has citrus or lavender oils on face as some essential oils shouldn’t be used on the face and might make your rosacea worse

A mm other one is by AD Synergy and is very good value plus extremely high quality

I've been using the Haeckels Reef Complex Skin Oil for a while, and really like it.

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery is lovely.

I love the Clarins facial oil (you can use it alone or mix it with your face cream) and Bio oil for my body (sometimes my face too) - oils are just so much quicker to apply.

Rosehip oil by The Ordinary- very cheap and nothing else added, so nothing to set your skin off. I wear it every day on top of my serum and moisturiser, I have very reactive skin and haven’t had a problem with this oil- just keep it away from your eyes, it does clog your tear ducts

If you have rosacea or sensitive skin I'd avoid anything with fragrance or essential oils and look for either a plain jojoba oil or squalane. The Ordinary and Biossance both do nice ones.

My skin is very sensitive and prone to redness and I really love the Elemis superfood oil.

I use tallow from fierce nature then a few drops of squalene or rosehip oil. Makes my skin absolutely glow

Byoma nourishing facial oil - contains no nasty chemicals and leaves skin feeling lovely and soft. Not too pricey either.

EllaPaella · 01/10/2024 22:48

Sorry - it's called Byoma hydrating recovery oil!

I use no7 youthful oil, really good for me. I have rosacea and sensitive skin.

You may try with the ordinary. Here is my routine that I follow:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Evening:
Cerave moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Ordinary facial gel

The Ordinary Rosehip Oil is brilliant for my reactive Rosacea ridden skin. Azelaic Acid is also really good at soothing the redness associated with Rosacea.

PrairieDawn101 · 03/10/2024 11:53

Another fan of The Ordinary, but I use the Marula Oil as the rose hip causes reactions for me.
