I'm looking for some 'trendy'? brands for clothes for DS29. He's just been promoted. His normal attire is chinos, button down and jumper. Generally from H&M level. I'd like to treat him to some new stuff a bit more upmarket. No he doesn't have a partner to offer suggestions.

Uniqlo. My DS gets some stuff from there.

COS is great for classic bits, more £ than H&M but I find it much better quality!

Are you looking to get work bits or relaxing casual bits?

Isthiscorrect · 30/09/2024 12:25

@mushpush given the chance I'd bin the lot. But it's not up to me. Just thought I'd give a treat repeated to the promotion. So maybe work stuff. Smart casual.

😂 I know the feeling!

COS do lovely jumpers that can be both for work and casual, so might hit both marks? Love a Charles Tyrwhitt does good polo shirts / collared shirts too which I find good quality!

Weirdly mango also do some lovely bits, I grabbed DH some shirts for holiday and they're really nice. More brand over substance but Ralph Lauren is a classic for jumpers / quarter zips that can do home or work again, they're also a nice enough brand that it might encourage your DS to smarten up? Abercrombie are great for work bits too, I have loads from there and have just convinced DH to try some and he's also a fan.

@mushpush I shall investigate those websites immediately. Does everything size properly? Or any sizing up or down needed? I'm hoping to send some stuff and it just work for him. 🤞I can live in hope. He did mention RL once so you might be on your something there.

Is he particularly tall or broad? My DH is broad shouldered and tall - Ralph Lauren to a tall range which he takes his usual size in, in the regular range he sometimes needs to size up! Abercrombie is standard sizing, COS comes up a little small sometimes. Charles T seems standard in everything I've bought so far!

RL is such a classic and recognisable brand - I think people like that about it and the clothes do last well (from my experience!). 😊

Nope just regular medium size. Very average in size.

Thank you. I'm deep into the RL website with COS next. Vicarious shopping. Love it.

Mr Marvis, LeStrange and Oliver Sweeney might be of interest if he would like a minimal scandi look. There are also online shopping stylists that you fill in a questionnaire then will send out whole outfits and you just return what you don’t like. Can’t remember the name of those but will come up on a Google search.

Thanks @Lotsofthings I shall have a google.
