Shop assistant targets

On another post a user mentioned that newlook staff are targeted for how many email addresses they capture.

This might be very boring of me but it's got me wondering what other targets sales assistants in retailers have?

I used to be aware that when Dorothy Perkins did a return it went out of their daily taken revenue so it was very unpopular when you took a few returns back. Whether that was true or just a sales assistant telling me that to encourage me to exchange items rather than return I'm not too sure.

The retail world is very interesting to me.

Don’t think it’s the case these days, but my friend used to work at next and they were measured on how many next directories they could flog!

When your email address is out there, it’s out there! Some unscrupulous retailers even sell on email addresses, this can lead to an increase in spam and potential fraud.

Where I work returns come off the daily target. What's frustrating is when people purchase from a larger store then refund to our smaller one. The larger store keeps the money and we lose it.

Also all online returns have to be repackaged in store that day.
