Good black tights recommendations please.

I have a very nice dress to wear to an occasion soon. I want to wear black tights with it.
I'm looking for some that are not too thick so maybe 20 or 30 denier.
I have Snags but they are too heavy for the dress.
I don't mind spending a bit more than usual on them as it's a special occasion. I'm a size 18 and short so the fit can be tricky.
Has anyone got any recommendations?

Snag do 30 denier as well as 80 denier @Weirdaf1 - I think they are unbeatable tbh.

Another vote for Wolford. I only wear these now.

Snag is always suggested but at size 16 and 5ft 2 I find them too long / big in the leg still. I wonder if anywhere does petite tights?!

I like Heist. It depends on your shape but these suit me (hourglass with a high waist) - Wolford fall down on me and for some reason I don’t get on well with snag. Heist have always lasted well and they do a few different deniers

Going to try Wolford. My biggest irk with tights and probably cos I have always bought cheaper ones is that indescribable itch at buttock / top of thigh. Anyone else experience this? I've not had it for years cos of WFH

I like Heist too for black tights. Super comfortable. (Although not the very thin nude tights, I make a hole in them every time at the same place.)

It sounds laughable because I have tried millions of tights and the only ones that come high enough to stay up/don’t fall down/dont gather at the ankles on me are George at Asda!! Cheap as chips as well. I don’t have an Asda near me sadly but whenever I pass one I stock up!

Edit to say only their standard black tights! Rest are terrible 🙈😂
