I haven't been to a wedding in years but have been invited to an evening do (hotel) in November - really stuck as what to wear as a lot of my stuff doesn't fit me at the moment. I'm 5ft 8, size 16/18 and 48. Hate wearing heels and have thick calves. Does anyone have any suggestions please>

Thanks. Do you have to wear dresses or would trousers and a blouse/top be acceptable?

No you don’t have to wear dresses , have you thought about a jumpsuit?

I also like the Jolie Moi dresses on Silkfred.com, who also do a good selection of jumpsuits as well.

Try and found out a rough dress code (ish) as weddings vary dramatically from red carpet worthy to a night down the local pub style. I've been at weddings where people dressed up for the day and changed into jeans in the evening, even the bride! As an evening guest it's helpful to know which extreme (or in the middle Grin)

@hollyivy123 the crucial question is ‘what is your budget’?

Shein or Chanel? Boden or Bottega Veneta? Zara or Zimmerman?

I’d imagine a blouse and trousers would be perfectly acceptable.
