Hi,

So in all honesty, my hair has never been this bad. I used to have thick, wavy-curly, frizzy hair, but with a bit of attention, I could make it quite smooth and sleek.

Now, I've lost about a third of it thanks to iron deficiency and now, likely perimenopause, the hair I do have is so dry and the frizz is apparently untamable 😕

I have tried so much, but nothing seems to be working. I had an Innolux treatment (works better on my hair than Olaplex) at the hairdressers the other day, which normally sorts it out for a while, but this time it doesn't seem to have done anything.

Can anyone recommend some serious industrial strength treatment, that can actually help tame this mess?

I don't want any Brazilian blow dry type treatments, as this really weighs my hair down and makes it more greasy and flat.

Thank you 😊

Hi OP,

May I ask you, what products do you put in your hair and how do you dry it?

I use John Freida Frizz Ease products (shampoo, conditioner, curl cream and mousse). I use a microfibre towel and then diffuse (going around my head but without touching the hair at all) on a cold setting.

Once my hair is approximately 80% dry I turn the heat up to warm, not hot, and diffuse in the more traditional way (cupping/scrunching the hair into the diffuser).

My curly hair is EXTREMELY frizzy. This method isn’t perfect, but it’s the best I have found.

I’m wondering if the treatments you’ve used are making the problem worse. I’ve never tried them but my friend’s hair became thin and wispy after those treatments.

Sorry, if this is what you already do and I’ve taught you to suck eggs.

@101jobs haha no, I'm always up for ideas and advice!

I currently use Redken Soft range (gold bottle) and also use Moroccan Oil and heat defense spray before I blow dry with my Dyson Airwrap. I always use it on the highest heat, otherwise my hair just stays fluffy. I turned down the heat last time I washed it and....it didn't turn out well. I'm just glad I have nowhere fancy to go this week 😬

Your method sounds good, but whenever I leave my hair to go curly, it just doesn't suit my face. Even if I can get my curls defined. Maybe I should give it another go though.

I sleep with coconut oil on my hair (I wear one of those towelling turbans) once a week and my hair looks great afterwards.

I like VO5 serum oil or L'Oréal Extraordinary Oil, both excellent
