Diptyque advent calendar

Anyone getting it this year, or gotten it in previous years? It’s a small bit more expensive than I presumed it would be, has anyone any input on whether they felt the price was worth it for what they got?

I am seriously considering it as a treat, I presume it sells out so I need to get a move on. I haven’t delved into everything that’s in it as I want some element of surprise, but I know the gist.

It’s on pre-order on the website currently. I don’t love the calendar packaging compared to previous years (I’ve never bought it before but have watched YouTube vlogs and unboxings etc) but do love their candles.

Not for me. I'd rather seven full size Diptyque candles of my choice (have you sniffed Papier yet? it's gorgeous) and a traditional advent calendar from the cathedral shop. But I might be missing a point and am probably not there r target market for this product.

Most opinions I’ve read online are definitely leaning towards leaving the advent calendar and instead getting some full size candles! I’m glad I held off on impulse buying earlier in work.

Papier is gorgeous. I’m a summer scent person through and through - Cyprès, Mimosa, etc. - but don’t think I have any total misses yet when it comes to Diptyque!

I’ve had one before and loved it. I really like trying all the perfumes - I’m more into perfumes than candles, though. But it is expensive.

I’d love this, but agree with pp that I would rather pick my own candles or fragrances for the cost. @LaSorciereEfrontee i bought Papier as a perfume when it launched last year and really love it! I have Eau Duelle today but might give that a whirl tomorrow.

just mentioning spoiler alert🚨
Dp has been getting me a diptyque advent calendar every couple years or so. At this point I would honestly prefer to have the cash amount to spend on full size items in a boutique.
I find some of the mini candles don’t burn as well as the big size, the flame is very weak after a while. Also the perfumes have been pretty much the same every time, with maybe one new/ current addition. It’s always Tam dao, do son, eau rose, philosykos. Since pretty much 2016🥲 Diptyque has got soooo many perfumes, why is is always the same ones in the calendar?
also quite a few teeny tiny mini products that are completely not worth the price, like the tiniest ‘tub’ of shower gel that lasts maybe 3 washes if you are good? Or a tiny soap…
the calendar is £390 this year! And for that amount I can have a full size perfume, a couple of candles and a full size of one of their amazing exfoliating hand washes in a beautiful glass bottle and maybe a hand cream plus shedloads of samples 😏

@SecondClassmyass thanks, this is really helpful! I would love the luxury/fun of opening it every evening, but ultimately I think I’ll prefer having a better bank balance. it’s basically €470… half a grand!

If it had been under 400e I think I would have gone for it, but it’s just a bit too much I think, I can pick out a few nice things for 250/300 and still save. Think I’m just feeling left out because I’m too picky about skincare/makeup to get any of the other calendars 🤣🤣

@loropianalover when you put it like that (half a grand for an advent calendar) it really does put it into perspective 😅
