Absolutely nothing.
Don't do it.

Navy blue jeans or white linen trousers?

If I were you, I’d team it with a white shirt and black trousers.

Then take it off and go to work 😉

You’d look like a ringmaster on his holidays if you wore that.

And it’s tomato red too, I’m not sure anyone can carry that off. I’d be expecting the op to serve me coffee on a virgin Atlantic flight,

Gentleray · 23/09/2024 11:26

Is it this sort of style OP? I noticed the belt.

What goes with this? Pls
TinkerTiger · 23/09/2024 11:36

A bin bag. One goes in the other.

NellietheNumpty · 23/09/2024 11:38

I l would wear it. I would put on a silky vest top underneath and wide legged trousers. I think it has a 70’s vibe if you run with it. I think @Gentleray suggestion with belt is cool maybe woven or beaded.
I would avoid a contract colour and so with shades of the same colour.

GoulashSoup · 23/09/2024 11:55

Maybe a white roll neck top and a skirt this

or some wide leg trousers with a similar vibe.

I think you need some pattern or it becomes uniform.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 23/09/2024 12:32

I can't quite tell if it's knitted or if it's a suit waistcoat ? Is it from vinted?

I think there's some unpleasant comments on here towards an OP who is not confident in clothes for her new job and has already bought this item .

In truth, if someone were to turn up to work in black trousers, a white shirt and a red waistcoat no-one would think anything of it. People wear all sorts to work, some people more fashionable than others, mostly clean and tidy and vaguely smart is fine.

IAmNotYourZiggaZigAhhh · 23/09/2024 12:56

But those people haven’t come to S&B to ask other people for their opinion. The OP can wear whatever she wants - no one in real life is going to comment negatively. Here, we can be honest. Which is what she has asked for.

Namechangeforcheese · 23/09/2024 12:57

That waistcoat plus white shirt shirt combo is pretty much the uniform my late MIL wore throughout her many years working at the local Granada bingo hall. She loved it and it looked great on her.

mirro · 23/09/2024 17:50

I would wear camel trousers and a camel top. Black is too sharp a contrast with the red as is white.

No you’d not say anything but you’d think it. And the op isn’t confident that’s why she asked, what should everyone do, lie,to her? Best to be honest , so she can feel good.

EngineEngineNumber9 · 24/09/2024 10:22

I think it’s meant to be worn as the green one an PP posted above with nothing underneath, and trousers in a matching shade.

What goes with this? Pls
ifonly4 · 24/09/2024 10:28

OP, I've have suggested a blouse (white or cream) and trousers! Either way, you have to wear what you feel comfortable in.

Have you seen what others wear in the office, or are there any photos online?

bananaboats · 24/09/2024 12:47

It does look very uniform like. Defo not with black and white. The only thing I can I possibly see it working with is matching red trousers bit that would be a very bold look for most offices!

Windsorlady · 25/09/2024 20:02

Maybe a stripped top with red or orange in it with a denhim or dark skirt
