Sorry, dear @Stopbeingawalkoverandwalk - I missed your Kardashian comment.
They are such an interesting family. Much like the Schleswig Holstein Sonderberg Glucksteins. Always looking for headlines!
I do think that the Kardashians have adventurous children's names, though. Perhaps Storni, Psalm and True would be better names than Albert, Henry and George.
Plus I have had Kylie's eyeshadow recommended upthread.

Nanny is part of the problem, she's a right cow. One of your kids is clearly malnourished and traumatised and needs a speech therapist, and the oldest one is a spoiled, entitled twat who has dangerous habits. And nobody even remembers the others. Someone needs to call social services.

All noted, dear. Although I do suspect that parenting mores, even for royalty, have changed since mine were small. Some even go to school with other children which is most refreshing.
I remember having a governess who wasn't keen on mathematics, and to this day I have trouble with my times tables. I just get my footman to add up my bill at the Bookie's.

Naming your children after compass readings is also abuse. Please don't get any further ideas about neglectful motherhood from that shower. And tell your eldest to not party with the gay young things of America, even if bootleg hooch and a "freak out" sounds splendid and spiffing. No good will come of it.

velvetcoat · 21/09/2024 11:45

The Schleswig Holstein Sonderberg Glucksteins have been banned from entering my abode after that unsavoury incident with the hobby horse and the 5 empty bottles of Mead.

I am surprised you didnt hear of their shenanigans via Lady Hester of Chiswick.

We no longer speak of them and frankly, I would appreciate it if you didnt bring them up in polite conversation, Mary.

David is a worry, he has most peculiar ideas, but also George, who I hear likes an evening at a certain kind of club. How I wish they were all like dear Bertie with his love of Scouting and fondness for gardening. Such a comfort.

Oh my dear! Not the Mead! What a dreadful episode, and how right you are to ban them. They do have a thing about hobby horses which I find hard to fathom, even consulting a tome by that very clever Mr Freud.
No more mention of the SHSGs. Am I allowed to talk about the Kardashians?

Americans! Omg - they will be the ruin of anyone 🙄

Lady Hester of Chiswick? @velvetcoat ?
I haven't seen her since she borrowed my brooch, so I am keen to reaquaint with both Lady H and the brooch.

Well at least young Mary is a credit to you in that regard. She knows how to keep the Guide Promise and has all her badges, including hostess. (Just don't tell her what's happening to Foxlease, she'll be apoplectic).

The Kardashians are totes fine.

At least those young ladies act with some ladylike decorum and dont seem to relish making public spectacles of themselves unlike those we wont name.

Although I did once hear a rumour at my croquet club that mother Kardashian was once the subject of one of Freud's case studies.

But I'm sure that was just malicious gossip.

What a shame about Foxlease. So many girls having so much fun, what a pity. Mary certainly took to GirlGuiding, which has been such a wonderful organisation. If only it had existed when I was a girl! Camping sounds like fun! Also slightly more comfortable than my apartment at Windsor Castle.

Ooh, now I'm intrigued! I shall get a man to go to the library for another of Mr Freud's works. Such a clever man. I applaud your membership of a croquet club, although I hear the summer parties can get raucous, so keep the Alka Seltzer handy.

Oh Dear. You'll never get that brooch back I'm afraid.

Lady Hester lent it to her sister, Lady Rose, who took a trip on an "unsinkable ship" which did actually sink, contrary to its ardent reputation, and its now at the bottom of the ocean.

So sorry. It will languish forever in its watery grave. The heart of the ocean. On a clear night some say you can its beauty reflected in the moonlight. Apparently, having a pint of absinthe renders its beauty particularly pronounced.

BreatheAndFocus · 21/09/2024 12:33

You look 23. All the people guessing you look any older than 30 are clearly bitter and jealous because they look awful themselves.

Oh dear, such a tragedy. I'm with you on the absinthe.

Why thank you! I'm inclined to believe that some people are just jealous, what a dreadful emotion. I was once jealous of our dear cousin Claudine von Upspring Gotterdammerung, such a pretty girl and so vivacious! Turned out she was rude to the servants. No excuse. Not pretty at all.

Sorry about the brooch. But as they say, the sinking of Titanic was a miracle to the lobsters in the ships kitchen. It’s all about perspective.

What a beautific and serene way to view the world. No hysterics, just a docile way to opine on humanity.

You are a credit to your user name and I am sure the lobsters salute you

Have you acquired any more little additions; I’m thinking little figurines, antiques etc in the interests of expanding the Royal collections??

I have indeed, Frankie dear. Sometimes when I visit friends I comment on some charming item and my dear friends are kind enough to have it sent to me. I have an inventory book so that I can check on all items in case they go missing.
