Really liked the fit and Dd asked why I’d bought tiger stripe crotch jeans? It’s put me off them now! 🙈

Now you've said it, yeah. What a funny description. But I don't think it's bad or anything! You'll not love them as much after that comment, the joys of teens!

Aethelthryth · 17/09/2024 17:55

I have these and love them- I don't think the stripe is noticeable except in the photo

DeadbeatYoda · 17/09/2024 17:55

Its not that unusual for jeans to have these dye marks. How old is DD? Teens are incredibly self conscious of a and she may just be projecting her fears of being laughed at.

Ozanj · 17/09/2024 17:56

Most jeans eventually become that way if you’re hippy. M&S are being unreasonable to sell it that way as they’ll just become lighter

ASphinx · 17/09/2024 17:57

I think those dye marks are more common than not?

AgnesX · 17/09/2024 17:59

I like them, are they comfy 😳

NobbyNeighbour · 17/09/2024 18:00

She’s 23yo! Think I’ll keep them as they’re the best fitting jeans I’ve had in ages and guess i hadn’t noticed the stripes until she said.

My only other slight issue is they’re about an inch too long even in petite for short arse me.

She's not really lived fashion trend through the decades yet.

Those distressed marks used to be very popular, and never really died a death. They've always been found on jeans even when they're not at the height of fashion. I think they're coming back into style again.

I'm so used to seeing them I never even notice them anyway.

yeah I was going to say, they were very common not even that long ago.

maybe laugh back at her lack of fashion knowledge.

AnnaMagnani · 17/09/2024 18:14

Guess she isn't old enough to have really old comfy jeans that have developed those stripes of their own accord

which is all of my jeans

NewspaperDoll · 17/09/2024 18:18

Ooh I love them OP. How stretchy are they? I’m not really a fan of overly stretchy jeans - I find they slip down. But I might make an exception 🤔

Dilbertian · 17/09/2024 18:20

They just look old and worn.

1%elastalene according to the label? Don’t seem overly stretchy.

I always notice these in jeans, I’m afraid (50s here). Tiger stripe is a good descriptor. You don’t notice them when they’re on, though, unless you have a completely flat belly (which I do not).

NobbyNeighbour · 17/09/2024 18:25

You can definitely see them on the model photo. I need to try them on again, maybe my tummy will hide them. 😁. Oh I get what you mean, I won’t see them. Yes. But others will. But yes, i think people are right, it’s just meant to make them look worn in a fashion way.

Shezlong · 17/09/2024 18:26

Ahhh willy whiskers we call them! Many jeans have them, some more pronounced than others. Those don't look too bad but only you will know if you will forever be conscious of them now she's pointed them out.

I think so too. M and S is copying much more expensive brands that do this on purpose for that “lived in” look. It’s aging to make them not look like Mr Bean’s girlfriend in her brand new pair of nice ironed jeans .

Edited

Thanks, have read this out to Dd who is now back tracking slightly 😁

Perfect for me, on one of my better days.
😉😁😁.

RedheadedSoulStealer · 17/09/2024 18:32

You almost couldn't get jeans without them a while ago (maybe more than a while ago) 😅

I think they're really nice and I guarantee no one over about 26 will think there's anything even remotely different about them.

I just assume jeans WILL have them

JustCleaningtheBBQ · 17/09/2024 18:34

I have them and also love them. They fit really nicely and I tried on loads of others (brands that my DC would consider much cooler) and these were by far the best. I've never noticed the stripes and you can't tell when they're on anyway. Definitely keep them!

TroysMammy · 17/09/2024 18:35

The thing is unless you keep on looking at yourself in mirrors you won't see them. Others will see but you should be at the age you don't give a shit what people think.
