I bought a denim skirt yesterday, and on having another look at it I've just noticed it has the "whiskering" too.

Jeans are lovely. The Lyocell will make them softer and hang better.
I have seen a few videos of the hard working people who distress jeans and it did strike me as wrong that poor people are sandblasting and tearing clothes for richer people to look cool.

Your DD has not a clue - I love them so much, your post has just made me buy a pair!

Those are really nice! I didn’t know there was a name for that finish though. I had a pair of skinnies with similar stripes back in 2004 so definitely not a new thing. What do youngsters know about style anyway? They wear sliders and socks ffs.

It’s normal. I don’t really like jeans without them to be honest: it looks like a Wall of Denim in the crotch area. The whiskers soften the look of the otherwise quite unforgiving fabric.

Take no notice, some of the most critical and prudish people are teens !!!

I wouldn't worry. Most denim is treated to "age" it in some way as the entirely unweathered deep indigo colour isn't udually as attractive as an aged look. These stripes have been introduced by this process having been designed to simulate the jeans being worn in an active life of sitting and standing. Must be a lot more complex than rumbling them with gravel.

I think if you wear them around the house and wash them a couple of times the stripes will look more like wear. Interesting that the black pair doesn't seem to have any. From the photos they look quite "unnatural" and like it's supposed to be a pattern rather than wear/fading, but with a bit of real wear and slight fading of the blue I think they'll look good! I like the fit, they look super comfy

😂 I’ve got some and DD16 said she liked them apart from the striped crotch. I hadn’t even noticed.

Wash them a few times and the stripes will be less noticeable 😀

How tall are you op? I really like them but not sure if I'd need short or regular leg?! Not that they've got any in stock at the mo!

5ft 2”. I think anyone 5ft4” or below would want short.
