Really liked the fit and Dd asked why I’d bought tiger stripe crotch jeans? It’s put me off them now! 🙈

When you link to these on the M&S website, it's saying 100+ sold in the last 48:hours! Shame you're not on commission OP

DillDanding · 17/09/2024 18:37

I like them. The marks make them look better than new jeans that have none.

BiccysR4dunking · 17/09/2024 18:37

they're perfectly fine op. I've had jeans with similar markings.

Mercurysinretrograde · 17/09/2024 18:40

Phroar!!!! Go rock those tigers! Those jeans are fab.

supportpangolin · 17/09/2024 18:44

The addition of pre-faded "whiskers" to jeans has been a thing for years.

I prefer to buy dark or medium blue denim without whiskers or faded areas on the upper thigh and knees and as I keep my jeans for years, they will develop their own worn creases and faded areas.

The jeans you have linked to are cut quite loose around the upper thigh (at least on the model). If these had not got pre-faded "whiskers" I don't think they would develop whiskers to that extent as they would not be tight enough. But they might fit tighter on non models.

Personally, I think whiskers look better on narrower cut jeans - straight or skinny. But if you like them, keep them.

1%elastalene according to the label? Don’t seem overly stretchy.

But as much as 27% lyocell. Only 72% cotton!

Cherrysoup · 17/09/2024 18:51

That would put me off. Shame , they’re otherwise very much my style. Saying that, my Dh and my cousin asked ‘Have you shit yourself’ and ‘Did you slide down the hill with the kids’ on seeing my yellow tinted jeans. Trouble is, I love the weight, design, hang of them and wear them as often as I can!

I made the mistake of buying ’distressed’ jeans which the label says will become more distressed over time. They weren’t kidding, I’ve ended up putting in a patch.

bluecomputerscreen · 17/09/2024 18:54

now I can't unsee 'whiskers'Grin
even though most faded trousers have those

Yeah, I just noticed that. Not sure what lyocell is! 🤷‍♀️😁

So lyocell is stretchy and absorbent and environmentally friendly. No idea what it will mean for how they fit/wear/go baggy/fall down. Will find out I guess.

I think they’re lovely!

Grammarnut · 17/09/2024 19:06

They look fine. Nice cut.

TonTonMacoute · 17/09/2024 19:08

I think they look fine, it just looks like they have creased naturally from sitting down and moving.

Just4thisthreadtoday · 17/09/2024 19:09

NobbyNeighbour · 17/09/2024 18:25

You can definitely see them on the model photo. I need to try them on again, maybe my tummy will hide them. 😁. Oh I get what you mean, I won’t see them. Yes. But others will. But yes, i think people are right, it’s just meant to make them look worn in a fashion way.

Edited

@NobbyNeighbour

yes, they're just to make them look a little worn in. Been around forever

not what I was expecting when I opened the thread!!

try being under 5ft! Even the crop jeans at the moment are too long on me!! (Despite being halfway up the models in the pictures! )

DD is very young. 🫢

HeliotropePJs · 17/09/2024 19:20

I'm not a fashionista by any stretch of the imagination, but even I know those faded lines are 'a thing' and have been for decades. Don't think twice about it. They're obviously meant to be there and won't stand out to the casual observer. No-one will point or stare. 😉

Neverneverneveragain · 17/09/2024 19:23

They look lovely, I don’t think the lines will be noticeable when worn in real life

Whatthebarnacles · 17/09/2024 19:36

I've got jeans 18 months old with these on, and some that are around 8 years old with these on.

Kids will poke of fun of the smallest thing, their main aim is piss on old fogies' chips 😄 No one is looking at your stripey crotch creases, enjoy your jeans 😊

TypingoftheDead · 17/09/2024 19:36

I’ve had jeans with much less subtle patterns in the past and loved them whatever comments I got! They look nice and if they fit well, that’s a bonus!

LeroyJenkinssss · 17/09/2024 19:37

I actually really like those and have been looking for new jeans. So thanks!

pictoosh · 17/09/2024 19:39

Does he often find fault with/laugh at your clothes?
There's nothing wrong with those jeans. Nothing.

I used to wear jeans a lot in my youth - {too chilly a fabric now} and they do get those wear marks with regular use anyway.

They look like cat's whiskers in the pic, but when on, no one would notice!

Portakalkedi · 17/09/2024 19:46

This must be one of the daftest 'trends' ever, making new garments look old and worn, even worse than the ridiculous pre-ripped knees. Surely it should be on its way out now if teens are laughing at it!

armadillio · 17/09/2024 19:47

Tigers don’t even have stripes around their crotch. <misses point>

I wouldn’t even have noticed the stripes.

Utterknowitall · 17/09/2024 19:50

Ignore her and get some platform trainers to make them the perfect length.

Miniopolis · 17/09/2024 20:10

I’d say it’s a plus if current generation of early 20s don’t like it.
