Hiya

I'm 42 and have really aged the last year due to ever so slight jowls developing. I feel like I want to act on this before it gets any worse.

Has anyone had any of these treatments and has it made a difference?

There is nowhere that does ultherapy near me. My face isn't so bad that I need face-lift etc, I just want something to improve it a bit!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Following as I have the same issue!

itsnothingoriginal · 17/09/2024 18:07

I have had dermal fillers to help with lifting my jowls - chin and cheeks. I had read mixed reviews on Profhilo and it's so expensive. I was told Botox wouldn't work to lift my face enough but I am older than you so might be an option!

Not sure about efficacy of Hifu... maybe someone can advise!

I had 3 sessions of Hifu and didn't notice any difference. Slight improvement in my skin texture with profhilo but no lifting effect.
Cheek and temple filler will lift slightly but can look puffy. I didn't like it.
About to try something else so I'll let you know if it works!

This might help. I have often herald that it is painful, and there is a risk of melting fat in the face, if practitioners don’t get the depth right - something you really don’t want ! Also tbe price for the time it lasts seems very expensive. I have decided not to risk it.

I have had HIFU last year at 56 years old and loved it. The results are subtle and it was quite expensive and more uncomfortable than painful. Also had small amount of filler after but happy with the results

Gosh @sparklecat88, your aunt, your mum AND your sister have all had good results with this practitioner. Haven't you been tempted too?

wizzywig · 04/11/2025 20:22

Had all 3. And everyone says i look younger than my years.

Profilo structura may be something to look at if you are wanting a filler effect along with the regenerative effect of a skin booster.

multimillionaire · 04/11/2025 20:29

I have had pretty much every treatment there is.

Profhilo- crap, complete waste of money, no visible results
Botox- love it! but not had it for jowls so cant say how good it is for this
If the jowls are causing a double chin/sagging skin type thing kybella injections will get rid of it completely (it literally dissolves fat under the chin- amazing and totally worth it as it wont come back!!)
Morpheus/fraxel laser- incredible for smooth glass like skin but not sure it tightens skin enough to make a difference

Surely with kybella, the skin is left saggy after the fat is dissolved, then you have a problem of what to do about it. The answer is probably surgery.

Not for me- it just disappeared. It's no different to losing a moderate amount of weight. Dont forget we are talking small changes here - small pockets of fat. Its not like a morbidly obese person losing it all in 6 months leaving loose skin.
