"Doc" style boots

I'd love a pair of flat black boots to wear with dresses and jeans. I'm quite short and a bit chunky in thighs so find Dr Martens make me look a bit stumpy as they are very round in the toe.

Is there such thing as a similar style flat boot but with a more pointy/almond shape toe?

Can you please link the Lanx outlet? I can find the Solovair one but not the Lanx.

I did not know there was a lanx outlet, I just ordered off the main website.

Thistooshallpass24 · 15/09/2024 17:56

@KirstenBlest I wasn't telling you off or being shitty! I'm crap with links but they was one of the style of boots I thought were a good quality bargain.
Apologies if you thought I was being a dick

Flamingmentalcats · 15/09/2024 19:40

On dear, I have just gone down the lanx and blundstone rabbit hole 😍😍😍

KirstenBlest · 15/09/2024 20:08

If anyone from Lanx or Solovair is reading, any chance of commission please?
I am tempted by the Lanx outlet. I've had 'factory seconds' from Solovair and they were great. They don't hang about on there, so if you want them, buy them immediately.
The Grenson 'Sale' section is worth a look.

KirstenBlest · 15/09/2024 20:34

They look great @Joyfulincolour .

I find lanx narrow, compared to DM's and solovair

I've got the world's most average 37.5 size feet. I can pick up any brand and they'll fit. I don't find Lanx narrower than any other brand.

Doc Marten's ? Well, there was the looking like Minnie Mouse effect, the being too wide and far too much room around my toes, the weird being too tight over my (perfectly normal) instep, the rubbing at the back of my leg where the top of the boot sat.

Thistooshallpass24 · 15/09/2024 20:49

DM's now are just an overpriced fashion brand, not worth the money, agree the shaping is off , I'm a 39(6) and regular/slightly wide (only noticed in lanx, sea salt and Topshop shoes)
As I said before since surgery I really struggle to find, good quality boots, but before God I loved boots! Sold all my favourites now live in trainers, not looking forward to wet/cold weather

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 15/09/2024 20:53

Lanx shoes are so narrow I can't get my feet in them!! I normally were Solovair or Blundstone boots.

@Doje but they aren't leather so not able to be polished, they will last 1/2 years tops as a boot and will sit in landfill forever .

Not everyone wants to wear leather, the animal cruelty puts me off personally

Thistooshallpass24 · 15/09/2024 21:04

@Bandstander if you look at the other brands suggested, they are all quality brands, that will be wearable for a long time resoled etc.
£23 boots from a supermarket and going to wear very differently they will delaminate the vegan leather aka plastic which comes from petrochemicals and will sit in landfill for "ever"

I live in boots in the winter, these are my current favourites: Geox® SERILDA WOMAN: Black ankle boots with laces | Geox ®

I have those too. My very similar Gabor boots lasted four winters and cost around £120. Both brands are so comfortable.

Leather production is also terrible for the environment, and of course, deeply cruel to animals.

It’s better for the environment than plastic and is usually a byproduct of food production.

Thistooshallpass24 · 15/09/2024 21:34

@Bandstander but that's not what this thread is about, maybe you've misunderstood? I don't recall the op asking your opinion on leather production

These aren't leather, but are well made and they're not narrow fit which is great as I have slightly wide feet .

I wasn’t replying to op. Have a nice night!

Thistooshallpass24 · 15/09/2024 21:45

@Bandstander thanks mate will do 👍

KirstenBlest · 16/09/2024 09:31

I didn't like the Solovair vegan leather. The old ones were OK but the hi-shine looks plastocky. They were returned.

Cable1905 · 16/09/2024 10:02

Have a look at Legero boots. Leather and waterproof. Very comfy and maybe a bit wider than normal. Lots of colours.

KirstenBlest · 16/09/2024 13:47

plasticky.
These caught my eye
LUCCA women Ballerina with Slip-in - Black | legero
not boots. Some of the goretex boots look good.

Tinkhasflown · 16/09/2024 13:48

I love these but no sizes unfortunately.
