Follow a lot of Instagram influencer accounts
I see this outfit on repeat
Is this what's the fashion ?
I'm not sure how I feel about the long socks!

It's a fashion. There's so many of them about, that you can easily ignore the ones that don't appeal. The pulled up sock thing had been about for a wee while now with trainers, so this is a variation.

hangupyourboots · 14/09/2024 09:00

Is there an age range do you think?
I'm 36 so not sure if I'm a bit too old

Yes, it is a look that is still in style and I really like it. But I think you need slightly longer socks and a longer, more oversized jumper.

As for age, I’m 38 and am rocking that look today!

henlake7 · 14/09/2024 09:04

I wear this quite abit TBH! 😁 It one of my go to outfits (with a giant hoodie or jumper) if Im walking the dogs in the morning or lounging round the house.

I dont get it when people dress it up with long coats or go 'out out' in it. To me its a casual slobby outfit!
oh, and Im 51! (I just never got into those socks that leave your ankle naked so have been rocking long socks since the first time around!!LOL).

Rosybud88 · 14/09/2024 09:08

I have the black platform ultra mini uggs and I just tuck my leggings in because I can’t bring myself to wear the socks - 35yo millennial.

hangupyourboots · 14/09/2024 09:11

So are the uggs slippers ?
I looked for a pair and it was taz slippers ?
So I can wear them out of the house ?
Sorry for all the questions,I'm just not cool at all ha ha

Your not too old at all.
What your showing in the pitcher im wearing pretty much the same just a longer jumper and hug boots still still see my thick wooly socks.

JustWalkingTheDogs · 14/09/2024 09:37

My DD is 16 and this is her staple wardrobe this week

henlake7 · 14/09/2024 10:08

You can def wear Uggs out the house....even the slippers look more like mules!
And TBF there are so many dupes on the market they are pretty much a wardrobe staple for alot of people.
I bought my beige Ugg(ish) ankle boots from a catalogue years ago and they are still going strong!

NunyaBeeswax · 14/09/2024 12:37

I like this look tbh.
It looks so comfy and cosy.

Don't know about the uggs, but the leggings and sweater etc.. with some NB trainers perhaps.

Alltoowell10minuteversion · 14/09/2024 15:16

I wore a similar outfit the other day and my teens said it was cool 😁 it’s also super comfy, I love the big socks over leggings look.

DeccaM · 14/09/2024 16:40

It's a popular look for students at the university where I work. I wouldn't wear it, because I never wear leggings as trousers and I don't care for the slippers/shoes. But it is quite fashionable among the younger crowd.

Cyclingmummy1 · 14/09/2024 16:49

Long Uggs with this outfit were very popular about 15 years ago. I'm not keen on short Uggs.

Doublevodka · 14/09/2024 16:50

I’m seeing this look quite a lot. I don’t wear this but I’m tempted cause it looks sooooooo comfy.

Bubblesallaround · 14/09/2024 16:52

Yep I have recently got a pair of ultra mini Ugg platform dupe from Next and shall be wearing them with either my wide leg jeans or leggings and socks. (Age 36 😊)

LouH5 · 14/09/2024 17:17

The pulled up ankle socks is a big thing now!

Im 35 and OP, if you’re anything like me, it’s more common for us to wear trainer socks with leggings and trainers (or uggs, whatever!) but apparently trainer socks are an “outdated, millennial” thing, and younger people have brought in wearing socks like the ones in the pic. My boyfriend is ten years younger than me, and his female friends would all wear their socks like that.

I definitely don’t think we’re too old for it though, I’ve noticed my friends my age have started this, and last week I bought myself a pair of ankle socks to try the look out too!

sarabaellty237 · 14/09/2024 22:33

yes fashion for long legs

Babbadoobabbadock · 14/09/2024 22:36

I wear this all the time but the socks have to be stripy

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 14/09/2024 22:39

I'd say it was considered fashionable a year or two ago but now quite a dated look.

I always think it looks a bit chavy, like the winter equivalent of crocs and cycling shorts🫣

Frintlinesetting · 14/09/2024 22:39

Looks very cozy

Precipice · 14/09/2024 22:40

Looks to me like she's forgotten her skirt!

eatingprayingloving · 14/09/2024 23:17

I live in a flat and now that it's getting colder this is my walking downstairs to the shop, getting my post, throwing away rubbish outfit. I don't have real Uggs though. Too much money just for a 'pop outside to get bread and milk' shoes

But not in leggings I'm wearing joggers or wide legs

Funnywonder · 14/09/2024 23:22

Why do people think it's cute to pose like Pingu?😆

I've been wearing this outfit in the house for a decade. Didn't realise it's trendy. I'd never go out like this.
