I'm wearing these today to travel in and I love them and think they look flattering
I want jeans this shape and fit
Is that a thing ?
What style are similar ?

You need M&S high waisted, crease front, slim flare. They look just like that pair you have on. I’ve just discovered them and love them!

Beachlovingirl · 13/09/2024 17:09

Just to say I look really silly in my wide leg jeans without shoes on. It's amazing, I put on some trainers, or boots, and all of a sudden I like them 😀

Sparklywhiteteeth · 13/09/2024 17:13

Op. Yes your actual jeans look way better.

Sparklywhiteteeth · 13/09/2024 17:14

TheLever · 13/09/2024 14:27

I have these on today and I still don’t really like them even though they are the best of ones I’ve tried on. I feel like I have balloon legs!

I agree I think boot cut can look better maybe try them?

Yes I can see your issue, not bad, but it’s not a good look really, not flattering.

63isMe · 13/09/2024 17:14

Yes not flattering

FastFood · 13/09/2024 17:18

They're not amazing, but not awful at all. Maybe a bit weird in terms of length. Either longer or shorter. Also, your posture doesn't help, we can see on that photo that you're like "what the hell is going on here" 😅
Its worth trying them on with shoes, I'm sure that with high tops converses or boots, they'd look way better.

I remember the first time I tried wide jeans I was like "WTF???" and I persevered because I liked them on others, but just wasn't used on me. Now I absolument love them.

Suzuki70 · 13/09/2024 17:22

The shape as a whole is flattering but not in a photo of anyone from the knee down! They need to be a bit long and drapey, worn with something tucked in. I wear mine with platform Converse.

Sparklywhiteteeth · 13/09/2024 17:37

It shows how bad they are op that people actually think you’ve posted a pic from the knee down even though it’s clearly from your hips 😂

SallyWD · 13/09/2024 17:38

I really dislike them. They don't suit me because I'm pear shaped, and they make my legs look even bigger. To be honest, I don't think they suit anyone!

Hadjab · 13/09/2024 17:48

They need to be wider I think.

GenAvocadoOnToast · 13/09/2024 17:51

I think one of the issues with those jeans OP is that the knees have gone saggy. This often happens when the jeans are poor quality and/or have too much stretch. I have some H&M slim jeans that did this 3 minutes after I put them on, they were a complete waste of money. But I honestly don't think wide leg jeans look good on anyone. Wide leg trousers that are fitted at the waist are fab however.

I'm an hourglass so wide leg trousers work for me as long as I wear a fitted top that's either tucked in or short enough to hit the top of the trousers. If I wear a baggy top or anything longer, it gives the illusion of looking much wider than I am.

I tried on some of my slim/straight jeans today (M&S sienna) and I was reminded of how fucking much I hate them. I can barely get them over my hips, they're horribly tight round the thighs yet gape massively at the waist.

TheSilentSister · 13/09/2024 17:55

They look awful OP but I'm a fan of skinny jeans, don't care they're not 'in fashion' - they still make them and people still buy them. I've got good legs and bum through walking a lot so I like how they make me look 'slim' compared to wide leg which just makes me look fat and frumpy. I'm 5.4 and a size 12/14.

TheOGCCL · 13/09/2024 18:51

Those jeans are a very bad example of wider shape jeans. As ever jeans shopping is always tough and you need to try a range of options. I agree with PPs that they either need to be shorter or longer but also more committed to being wide. They look like baggy straight jeans. You could also try something tapered so they don't just hang there. I am a massive jeans wearer but it does take time for your eye to adjust to something wider after all that time in skinnies. I still wear skinnies (also an Apple shape with slim legs) but I do see now that they are not as good for my proportion as something more balancing.

I’m small too size 6-8 and I don’t wear big flared jeans, as I think they’re unflattering on everyone. I only wear skinny bell bottom flares similar to your trousers in this pic. Mine are designer brands like Citizens, Paige, Frame, 7 for all mankind etc, they may be more than you’d want to pay but you can pick them on Vinted or Depop or find similar for less.

minipie · 13/09/2024 20:18

Agree. Better wide legs will flare outwards from your hip - like the Pull & Bear ones pictured upthread - rather than being the same width all the way down.

StormingNorman · 13/09/2024 20:22

If you want to try the wide leg style and suit a bootcut, you could try the Levi’s Rib Cage Bell. The rib cage wide leg styles are still fitted around the hip and the waistband sits at the narrowest point in your waist. I’m a 12 with chunky legs and these are still flattering.

Mirabai · 13/09/2024 20:26

OP put in “skinny flare” or “skinny bellbottom” jeans into Google - lots of options.

Bubblesallaround · 13/09/2024 20:26

Agree that they need to be wider. I’m only short but love my wide leg jeans. They are fitted in the waist but then they are wide and just skim the floor. (I’m sure men etc hate them but I don’t care!!!)

Barney16 · 13/09/2024 20:57

The wide leg ones aren't wide enough. You need more of a flare, like your second pic.

Yes, it’s this.

startingoveragainagain · 13/09/2024 21:13

I now have two pairs a baggy pair and a flare pair after wearing skinnies for years and years. I'm 5ft.

I much prefer skinnies, they are more comfortable, they don't drag on the floor and look like i'm wearing my dad's jeans - but here we are. Hopefully skinnies will be back in fashion too

Devilsmommy · 13/09/2024 21:22

They look slightly too short. They do actually look good on you, you just need slightly more length

highlandcoo · 13/09/2024 21:47

HeySummerWhereAreYou · 13/09/2024 13:50

@highlandcoo WTAF has happened to that model's legs? 😆

They have gone a bit overboard on the airbrushing haven't they? Shock

I should have said .. I don't look exactly like the model when I'm wearing mine Grin still like them though

Bignanna · 13/09/2024 21:54

WeneedSamVimesonthecase · 13/09/2024 13:12

They’re not wide enough. I have a couple of pairs and they’re much wider than that, and I love them.

Agree the ones OP is wearing are just baggy, the legs should be wide and flowing.

Why are you listening to what some unknowns are telling you to wear?

Wear what you feel comfortable in and can style to suit YOU

Im not a skinny minny, Im a rounded and very short 8 bottom, 12 - or 10 top half _ and wide legged trousers look bloody stupid on me because they make me look shorter and no definition

Im probably older then you so I really dont follow " fashion" I buy clothes that I like and that make the best of me
