Please help me find shoes to go with this kind of dress for my graduation

I need to find some shoes to go with the dress. I’m wearing for my graduation. The dress is like this https://www.nordstrom.com/s/sleeveless-sheath-dress-petite/7775455 (but nicer).

I don’t think anything flat will look right, but I don’t want anything too high as I haven’t really worn heels for years and don’t want to trip over while walking across the stage 😳

To complicate things, I have wide feet with narrow ankles. I think I need some kind of ankle strap to stop them falling off. Budget - ideally under £60.

Stilletos are definitely out as I WILL fall in them. Also not a fan of sling backs/anything that shows the heel. Sandals are definitely out.

I did consider knee high flat boots but I’m not sure they’ll really work with a formal dress.

Am I asking the impossible?

I love ankle boots but I don’t think they look right with formal dresses

The shoes the model is wearing look fine? Or what about low heeled Mary Janes? For example nice but out of budget, or budget friendly option?

Do you know the colour of the trim on your robe yet?

Something with a mid block heel (I know this is over budget but it's just an idea) should feel pretty secure and wearable, and kep things current.

Ankle boot or shoe boot

I wouldn't say that dress is formal...looks like a skin tight mini?

Ankle boots with a similar (but slightly lower?) heel to the sandals in the picture. Essentially boots in the style of the sandals.

What about a small wedge, there are loads for you to find the right ones for you. Wedges come in all sorts of heights and are more comfortable than a heel and alot easier to walk in....Hope you get sorted

I don't think flats would look odd. I don't like the shoes it's been styled with at all.

The Russell and Bromley ones are perfect.

As others have already suggested, a mid heel Mary Jane would work:

Second best suggestion after the pricey Russell and Bromley pair. The shape is perfect.
