How many outfits do you own?

I have a wardrobe full of nice clothes but most days I’m in my work clothes, gym wear or comfies then the times I do go out I have no idea what to wear and resort to the same 2-3 outfits because deciding what to wear and putting pieces together feels overwhelming. I’m going to have a massive clear out find outfits that work and then sell/donate the rest I was thinking maybe have 4-5 day outfits and 3-4 dressy outfits. Do you have so many outfits? Or just bits that go with everything?

It’s probably where I’m going wrong but I don’t work in outfits. Most of my stuff goes with each other so I mix and match pretty much endlessly. It means more effort but I’d be very bored wearing the same outfit on repeat. I very rarely wear exactly the same combination of clothes more than once. Helps I don’t wear dresses as I think these are harder to vary up, but that’s what a lot of people like as it keeps it simple.

My stuff is mainly smart casual, I don’t have all that much in the way of dressy outfits. If I really need one, eg for a wedding, I tend to look on Vinted. I still wouldn’t want to wear the same dressy outfit over and over.

I try not to buy 'outfits' unless it's for a special occasion. Most of my clothes are in a similar colour palette so generally work together and I just wear whatever combination I feel like.

I dont really have outfits (unless you count joggers and hoodies!).
Just alot of stuff that mixes and matches quite well, plus dresses which are a whole outfit anyways!
I wouldnt go and massacre your entire wardrobe though! Maybe go through everything and work out some outfits (you could take pictures of them or store items together)....then you have some 'go to' options when you need them.
Only donate/sell stuff you never wear, even if it doesnt go with anything else!

I don't really have outfits either. I have jeans, shorts (for summer) or dresses. So if it's jeans it will be a fitted jumper with a vest underneath or t shirt and a cardigan (if its cold) or a dress. I'm pretty fussy with skirts, I'm tall and they are always too short. Dresses are my go to for nights out etc. They just seem to fit well and it's an outfit all in one.

Don't but things as outfits. I def have well over about 1000 items of clothing though, probably more if I counted so can always manage to put something together whatever the occasion

Not a boast post, just like clothes shopping! Get a lot from second hand and car boots etc and have owned a lot of the items for 20 years plus

I don't buy outfits. As MOG I wore a dressy dress and a striking long velvety jacket. They went well together but work equally well with other things and will fkr a long time yet.

Unless going to a wedding or other life event I don't tend to buy things that intentionally go together. I just buy things I like to look of, and hope I don't clash too much.

I use outfit formulae for colours and silhouettes that work together.

Eg wide leg or flare jeans/trousers and turtleneck top
