Need help with make up ideas...

I have just turned 40 and am very unattractive. Constantly look tired, very thin hair and lips and I need to brighten myself up.
I rarely wear make up but to give people help as to what to advise, I am pale with dark hair and blue eyes.

I go for minimal make up. Good things I've found

Barefoot minerals complexion rescue
VIEVE blusher
Glossier Generation G lipstick (like a tinted lip balm)

Nars make an eye brightener which you use like a concealer and it is very good at brightening up your face and making you look less tired.
I second the suggestion of Bare minerals complexion rescue. Stila colour corrector is also great for a light tint: it helps even out redness and dark under eyes.
Mascara, blush, tinted lip balm or gloss will all give you a lift.
Visit the hairdresser to get some tips for your hair.

The hairdresser just agreed my hair is useless. All the female members in my family are balding in places at the back of their heads and so unless I get extensions, I can see myself going down the same path.
I am making notes of all these products

What about a wig @PandaWorld or a hair piece? They are very common, hairpieces especially.

I’m going to suggest that you find out what colour season you are. You can pay for it or hop in one of the many Facebook groups who will offer you an opinion. I wonder if you get your colours right, it’ll make you look less tired and will help to inform what make up colours you choose.
What sort of colour make up do you usually wear? I have similar colouring to you.

I wouldn't want my photo up online. People would be cruel.
I only wear red lipstick here and there. I am clueless with make up. Even at my age.

There is a lot of info online about which colours suit people. Also books on style and image are useful. If you want make-up advice getting a fee session at Boots or a department store can be helpful .I was lucky enough to be able to do a course with WEA on style and image and the lady who ran it was trained by Colour Me Beautiful and I was able to find out all sorts of info .We had a day shopping with the tutor which was amazing .Sadly the lady died but people run similar days it might be worth going to an expert in style .Make-up gets covered .Best wishes.

I got an online colour consultation from a stylist I follow on Instagram. She’s called Francesca Cairns. An in person one would be better I’m sure, but it was money well spent and I use the colour reference palette more for makeup than clothes - it’s very good.
