I'm 50 and have lost my way, but I need a new pair of boots to wear with jeans or trousers.

Don't like going higher than 85 and I'm a 2.5 sometimes a 3 so a bit worried the Reiss ones will be too big.

My boots last for years, if not decades, and cost a fraction of the cost of those boots.

Edited

Who cares...it's irrelevant. Some of us like to spend our hard earned cash on more expensive boots. It's all relative 😉

OneBadKitty · 11/09/2024 20:00

I like the first pair- they look like they would become cool and slouchy with wear- only for slim legs though!

LadyDanburysCane · 11/09/2024 20:10

I love the second pair! I just have to convince myself that I don’t need yet another pair of boots…..

OneBadKitty · 11/09/2024 20:16

I bought these on a whim a couple of years ago- they are bit cheap and cheerful but never worn them- maybe they will look ok if i find something to wear them with? https://www.asos.com/us/lipsy/lipsy-ruched-ankle-low-boot-in-camel/prd/200729564

Love the Jimmy Choo boots - will look great with wide leg indigo jeans, I have just bought two new pairs on boots - both with pointy toes and one with stilettos (which will be interesting as it’s years since I wore stilettos).

Monstermunchy · 11/09/2024 21:54

Really nice op. I’ve been eyeing up boots on the anonymous Copenhagen website…

ohpoowhatnow · 11/09/2024 22:03

Of course you do....new season, new boots. Those are the rules. 😉

But I bought a pair of Fairfax & Favour boots just last month……

Mind you…. It was technically still summer then ……. 🤔

I think they are definitely in fashion and I could definitely walk in them. I mostly wear heels for work, so I'm used to wearing heels.

I pulling myself out of wearing skinnies, so probably baggy or flares.

I like a looser fit trouser/jeans over a pointy toed and heeled boot. I think they can upgrade the outfit. The length of the trousers is important though, you need to just see the heel, maybe 1" and only see the front half of the boot.

I like them. Suede is impractical but a spray protector helps and the taupey colour is lovely.

I've ordered the Jimmy Choo's thanks all.

Just seen the update....lovely!

Childfreecatlady · 12/09/2024 17:29

The Jimmy choos are nice, I am just horrible with suede or suede like materials, esp in UK weather. That being said I have loads of Jimmy choos, many of which are stilettos and they are very comfortable.

Yes so do I, actually I think all of mine are suede.

Tonight you’re going to party like it’s 1999.

Pippetypoppity · 15/09/2024 01:10

Wow! Wish I could afford any of them!

How do you wear baggy or flared trousers with knee high boots? Do they cover up the boots or tuck in??

RosesAndHellebores · 15/09/2024 08:11

Those are fabulous.

@startingoveragainagain because they are similar, I'd probably buy them all.and buy the most comfy.

How do you manage to buy shoes/boots on the Internet. To get a pair that fits properly and is perfectly comfy, I almost always have to try on at least six pairs. For boots I nearly always try two sizes.

MulberryPeony · 15/09/2024 08:19

I love the first pair.

They're all gorgeous, but obviously the Reiss boots are best value for money. I'm 63 and wear elegant suede stiletto boots (ankle and knee-length) all winter (I prefer a slightly more almond-shaped toe, but some of my pairs are a bit more pointed). Like you, my days of wearing 4" (10cm) heels are long gone, but 8.5cm are perfectly comfortable (I went shopping all day in my navy suede Boden boots yesterday, which have a 8.5cm heel, with no problems at all). Personally, I'd try the Reiss first - if they're too big you can send them back, but if they fit well you've got a lovely pair of boots for a "bargain" price. If money's no object, the Jimmy Choo's get my vote.

blueberrycherubandbump · 09/09/2024 20:45

The boots you've chosen are pretty inoffensive but they look incredibly impractical. Painful to walk in and suede is a nightmare to upkeep especially in winter.

What kind of jeans/trousers will you wear these with. Are you looking for dressy or everyday and how would you describe your style

I only ever wear suede boots - I have countless pairs in various colours - and none of them are a nightmare to maintain. A good rubber suede brush and a bit of nous is all that's required. The only time I wouldn't wear them is in deep snow (and snow would mark leather too).

YellowComb · 15/09/2024 09:16

Stilettoes and pointy toes is a trend I didn't want to see appearing again. I'll stick with comfy, practical footwear.

pandp · 15/09/2024 09:52

I love the Jimmy Choos, great choice

petmad · 15/09/2024 11:56

im afraid to say there all ugly and very impractical especially if for everyday boots and id be damned to pay £500.00 for a pair of boots

Skybluepinky · 16/09/2024 08:16

I assume u live somewhere sunny, as not practical at in anywhere it rains.
I don’t like any of them, remind me of my unfashionable English teacher who smelt of mothballs.
